At one of my previous roles, I integrated Python anomaly detection into financial dashboards — flagging revenue outliers that pure SQL reports were completely missing. Power BI fed by a Python ML pipeline is a different league. 👩💻 Here's my exact workflow for connecting ML output to BI dashboards: Step 1: Build and run the model (Python) model = GradientBoostingRegressor() model.fit(X_train, y_train) predictions = model.predict(X_new) Step 2: Push output to SQL import pandas as pd from sqlalchemy import create_engine engine = create_engine('mssql+pyodbc://...') pd.DataFrame({'policy_id': ids, 'risk_score': predictions}).to_sql('ml_scores', engine, if_exists='replace', index=False) Step 3: Connect Power BI to that table → Get Data → SQL Server → ml_scores table → Join to main fact table on policy_id Step 4: Build the intelligence layer in Power BI → Conditional column: risk_score > 0.75 → "High Risk" → KPI card: "X policies flagged this week" → Slicer: show only high-risk segment → Trend visual: how is average risk score moving week on week? Result: Underwriters open Power BI every morning. They don't see raw data. They see which policies need attention today.
