🚀 Cortex Code CLI is not just a Snowflake tool. It’s an engineering co-pilot. Over the past week, I used Cortex Code CLI while building a streaming data + AI pipeline. What surprised me wasn’t just what it did inside Snowflake. It was how deeply it understood my entire development environment. Let me explain. 🧠 It Understands More Than Just Snowflake While working on a pipeline that involved: • Apache NiFi, Kafka, snowflake-kafka-connector for ingestion • Kafka running locally in Docker • Snowflake Kafka Connector with Snowpipe Streaming • dbt for Bronze → Silver → Gold modeling Cortex Code CLI didn’t just help me write DBT queries and snowflake. It understood: ✔ My Docker containers ✔ Docker Compose YAML files ✔ Networks and volumes ✔ My local Kafka cluster on docker ✔ Application JSON configs ✔ Connector properties It recognized how services were running and helped wire everything together correctly. That level of environmental awareness is powerful. 🔐 Authentication? Automated. One of the most impressive parts: Cortex Code CLI generated and configured secure key-pair authentication for: • Snowflake Kafka Connector • dbt → Snowflake connection No manual key generation. No password-based configs. No confusion across environments. It established public/private key authentication and applied it seamlessly. 🤖 AI Directly Inside the Pipeline After ingestion, I used Snowflake Cortex AI functions — including Cortex Complete — to: • Denoise customer ticket descriptions • Clean unstructured text • Prepare data for downstream AI analysis And I’m just getting started. Next, I’ll be expanding into more Cortex AI SQL functions like sentiment analysis, classification, and intelligent filtering and Apache Airflow for the orchestration. 💡 The Bigger Realization Cortex Code CLI isn’t just built for Snowflake, DBT, Apache Airflow. It understands: Infrastructure. Containers. Streaming systems. Authentication models. AI workflows. It feels less like a helper — and more like a development co-pilot for modern data + AI stacks.
