Riddle: Why does it feel so easy to create a new programming language in 2026? Answer: Because the hardest part isn't building it... it's saying the word... no. No to async io. No to bolted on typesafety No to rewrite in rust. No to fancy feature x at moment y With today's tools, you can get something working fast. But designing something that lasts means resisting the urge to add 'just one more thing'. The real skill isn't creation, it's restraint! What do you think?

This month's #cprogramming challenge once again has you code a function that provides services readily available in other programming languages. This time, it's the trim() function, which lops off whitespace at either end of a string. Have fun! https://lnkd.in/g-4k_mhH

This guy created a youtube channel just to rant about C++! https://lnkd.in/dh3EeYa6 I used to complain about records in Java and the fact that it is not nullsafe (yet), the Optional madness but after this video: Thank God for inspiring Gosling for the confort that Java provides.
lol bro setup a YouTube channel and put out exactly one, epic 2h+ long video title “the worst programming language of all time,” with more than half a million views, and it’s a screed about every terrible inconsistency in C++ The comments are amazing, too: “Learning C++ takes a lifetime, so the sooner you start, the longer it’s going to take” “Bro got rejected from C++ art school” “What C++ does to a man…” “The C++ files have been released” I really enjoyed this video https://lnkd.in/gijCcrbC

After thinking for a long time, I decided to stop coding in Rust. Too much time spent fighting the borrow checker and not good for what I need. Any advice on a decent programming language?
