Django Simplified: Project Structure & Request-Response Cycle

🚀 Currently building a To-Do App using Django! Here’s what I’ve implemented so far: ✅ Created a Task model in Django ✅ Built the frontend using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap ✅ Displaying all tasks on the dashboard ✅ Added a Completed Tasks section Next step: 1.Implementing the Add Task feature from the input field in the nex few days. 2. JavaScript is dominating… but no one talks about how hard it actually is. Yesterday I ran a poll asking developers which programming languages they use the most. The result was interesting. About 75% chose JavaScript and TypeScript, while Python and Rust had around 13% each. Not really surprising… but still worth thinking about. I personally use JavaScript and TypeScript a lot, and I also write Python. Each one has its own strengths, but JavaScript really stands out because of how broad it is. Frontend, backend, APIs, scripting… it’s everywhere. At the same time, JavaScript is not the easiest language to fully grasp. It can be unpredictable, and it definitely humbles you as you go deeper. But maybe that’s part of why it’s so powerful. Most Django tutorials teach you how to build features. Very few teach you how to structure a real production project. 💡 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 — 𝗗𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? Django’s "get_or_create()" helps prevent race conditions when creating records that must be unique. Instead of doing: - Query to check if it exists - Then creating it "get_or_create()" performs the lookup and creation 𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, reducing the chance of duplicates in concurrent environments. 🔧 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀: - User preferences - Tags or categories - Settings tied to a user Cleaner code and safer database operations. #Django #Python #BackendDevelopment #WebDevelopment #SoftwareEngineering #CodingTips #DatabaseDesign #FullstackDeveloper
