A mistake I made early as a web developer (and what it taught me)… When I started learning web development, I did what most beginners do. I jumped straight into frameworks and tools because it felt like real progress. And honestly? Things worked… until they didn’t. When something broke, I didn’t know why. I could build screens — but debugging felt like guessing. AI helped. But I realized something uncomfortable: I was depending on it instead of truly learning. That’s when it clicked. I went back to the basics — Understanding HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript deeply. Understanding how the web actually works changed everything. Once the fundamentals were clear: ▪ Frameworks stopped feeling confusing. ▪ Debugging became logical. ▪ Learning new tools became faster — not harder. Big takeaway: Strong fundamentals don’t slow you down. They save you from confusion later. If you’re starting out, don’t rush the process. Depth always beats speed in the long run. ⚛️ React Basics – The Foundation Every Developer Must Master If you want to become a serious Frontend or MERN developer, you must understand React properly — not just copy tutorials. React is a JavaScript library developed by Meta Platforms for building modern user interfaces. But React is not just about writing UI. It’s about thinking differently. 🧠 1. Hot take: Starting with React too early is one of the biggest mistakes new developers make. Not because React is hard. But because the fundamentals are missing. I've seen many developers jump straight into frameworks... and then struggle with basic layout issues, debugging, performance, or even understanding why something works. Sometimes they try to build complex React apps… while still struggling to center a div. Web development isn't magic. It's layers. HTML teaches structure. CSS teaches layout. JavaScript teaches behavior. Skip these layers and frameworks start to feel confusing. Tools like React and TypeScript help you scale. But only after the foundation is strong. The developers who stand out today aren't the ones who know the most tools. They're the ones who understand the basics deeply and think in systems. Frameworks evolve every few years. Still learning.
