💭 Day 6 with Python… it finally felt useful. Until now, I was learning concepts… Conditions, loops, functions… all great. But today, something changed. 👉 I learned about lists. At first, it looked simple: A collection of values in one place. But then I realized… This is how real-world data is handled. Names. Numbers. Marks. Tasks. Everything can be stored, accessed, and managed easily. 💡 Instead of writing separate variables like: name1, name2, name3… I could simply do: 👉 names = ["A", "B", "C"] Cleaner. Smarter. Scalable. So I tried something small 👇 🚀 Mini use-case: I created a list of numbers ✔ Found the largest number ✔ Calculated the sum ✔ Even filtered values And suddenly… It didn’t feel like practice anymore. Built something simple today. A small Python program to log the books I own. Nothing groundbreaking, just working through lists, inputs, and how to structure a basic idea into actual code. That’s really the point right now. Think of a project. Build it. Figure it out as you go. Also wrapped up a calculator program for my engineering bootcamp that I did pretty well on. Seeing things actually work the way you intended is… pretty addictive. It’s been fun developing this skill in real time. You can feel the progress when concepts start clicking and you’re not just copying code anymore, you’re making decisions. Next step is to keep building and eventually move toward full graphical applications. For now though, it’s almost time to shift gears back to law school and start working on an opposition brief due in a couple of weeks. Different disciplines, same process: learn, build, refine, repeat.

The "Shadow" Fix: Python Version Compatibility **Hook:** Building for the "Latest & Greatest" is easy. Building for the "Real World" is where the engineering gets messy. **Body:** While finalizing my Enterprise RAG pipeline, I hit a silent production-breaker: A `TypeError` buried deep in a third-party dependency. The culprit? The `llama-parse` library uses Python 3.10+ type union syntax (`|`), but the production environment was locked to Python 3.9. Result: Immediate crash on boot. Instead of demanding a system-wide upgrade—which isn’t always possible in locked-down enterprise environments—I implemented a **Graceful Fallback Logic**: ✅ **Dynamic Imports**: Wrapped the cloud-parser initialization in a guarded `try-except` block. ✅ **Smart Routing**: If the Python environment is incompatible, the system automatically redirects to a local, high-fidelity `PyMuPDF` parser. ✅ **System Resilience**: The app stays online, the UI remains responsive, and 99% of RAG functionality remains available without a single user noticing a failure.
