🚀 Day 29 of Python Problem Solving!! Today, I worked on the Top K Frequent Elements problem. 💡 What I Practiced Today: Counting element frequencies using dictionaries and Counter Understanding different approaches to solve the same problem Improving code efficiency and readability Using Python built-in functions for optimized solutions Strengthening problem-solving and data structure concepts 🧠 Problem Statement: Given an integer array nums and an integer k, return the k most frequent elements. 📌 Example: Input: nums = [1,1,1,2,2,3], k = 2 Output: [1, 2] ✨ Approaches I explored: 1️⃣ Sorting Approach Count frequencies using a hashmap Sort based on frequency Extract top k elements 2️⃣ Optimized Approach using Counter Used Python’s Counter and most_common(k) Achieved cleaner and more efficient code 🚀 This problem helped me understand how choosing the right approach and built-in tools can simplify complex logic and improve performance — a key skill for coding interviews. #Day29 #100DaysOfCode #Python #CodingJourney #ProblemSolving #DataStructures #Programming #LearnToCode #TechJourney

I spent 2 hours debugging code that should have taken 10 minutes. The reason? I didn't understand Python loops properly. Here's what I wish someone had told me on Day 1 👇 When I started learning Python, I thought loops were just "repeat this code." But there's so much more to it: ✅ for loops iterate over any list in one clean line ✅ while loops run until a condition is met ✅ break and continue give you full control mid-loop ✅ enumerate() hands you the index automatically — no counter variable needed ✅ zip() lets you walk through two lists side by side ✅ List Comprehension replaces 4 lines of code with 1 I made this cheat sheet to lock it all in — and I'm sharing it so you don't have to learn the hard way. 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟵/𝟯𝟬 Instead of forcing my old coding habits into Python, I’m leaning into how the language handles data natively. Why write four lines of code when you can write one? 1. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘆 (Looping & Appending): nums = [1, 2, 3, 4] squared = [] for n in nums: squared.append(n * n) 2. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 Approach 🚀: squared = [n * n for n in nums] 👉🏻It’s cleaner, faster, and much more intuitive. These are the small details that make the Python journey so satisfying🤌🏻 At what point do you find List Comprehensions become too complex? Most beginners don’t struggle with Python… they struggle with thinking like Python simple shift that changed everything for me.... 💡 When should you use a for loop vs a while loop? Use a for loop when you already have a sequence (Lists, strings, numbers via range()) Use a while loop when you’re waiting for a condition to change (True → False) 📊 Range() = Your loop’s control panel It has 3 simple parts: Start → where to begin Stop → where to end (not included ❗) Step → how much to jump Example: for i in range(1, 10, 2): print(i) 🧠 Core concepts you must understand: ✔️ Boolean → Only 2 states: True or False ✔️ Concatenate → Join things together (like text) ✔️ Escape characters → Control special behavior (\n, \") Why this matters? Because this is where you stop writing “random code”… and start writing logical, structured programs Most people skip these basics… and then struggle later with real projects. Day 3/120 – This one concept changed how I see coding 🤯 At first, Python felt confusing… But today I learned something simple that made everything click 👇 👉 Variables & Data Types Think of a variable like a box 📦 You store something inside it, and give it a name. Example: x = 10 Now “x” is holding the value 10. Simple right? Then comes Data Types: 🔢 Integer → 10 💧 Float → 10.5 🔤 String → "Hello" This might look basic… But this is the foundation of EVERYTHING in programming.
