Watching tutorials ≠ Real learning. You can watch 100 tutorials… and still not know how to build anything. I’ve been there. You feel productive. You understand everything while watching. But when you open your editor… blank. That’s the gap. Real learning starts when you: • Build without copying • Get stuck and figure it out • Make mistakes (a lot of them) • Debug your own code Tutorials give you direction. But building gives you skill. Stop consuming more. Start creating more. That’s when things actually change. 🚀 #developers #programming #webdevelopment #buildinpublic #learncoding #careergrowth

That's true. Tutorials provide a checklist of what you can expect. Building is when the actual learning begins.

In statements like these, wording matters greatly. I agree with the majority of it. However, watching and copying tutorials in the beginner phase isn’t necessarily a bad thing, if you do it with an active mind, then it’ll help you memorize code, syntax, and patterns. With that said, if you do watch tutorials, then take notes as you watch and only do exercises after the video or that segment of the video is over. Use your notes as the reference for forgotten pieces. I’ve found that this approach is more rewarding and helps memorize code easier.
