For instance, implementing Clean Architecture in NestJS by organizing code into feature modules and leveraging its built-in Dependency Injection system dramatically improves maintainability. On the frontend, the Next.js App Router has become my go-to for new projects, enabling server-first rendering and advanced UI patterns like streaming . For data management, the choice between Prisma and TypeORM often comes down to developer experience vs. flexibility. I find Prisma's auto-generated type-safe client a huge win for productivity and preventing runtime errors . Actionable Takeaway: To boost performance, offload long-running tasks like sending emails to a background job queue. Using Bull with Redis or Supabase's Edge Functions with a PostgreSQL queue are both excellent, robust solutions . They help you control what happens during: • Application startup • Module initialization • Graceful shutdown • Resource cleanup Let’s break down the complete lifecycle 👇 => onModuleInit() Called once the module’s dependencies are resolved. Perfect for initializing services like database connections, external APIs, or configuration validation. => onApplicationBootstrap() Called after all modules are initialized, before the app starts listening. Great place for cache warmup, scheduling cron jobs, or preparing background workers. ⚠️ Shutdown Hooks (Production Critical) To make shutdown hooks work properly, you must enable them: app.enableShutdownHooks(); Now NestJS can respond to signals like SIGTERM (very important for Docker & Kubernetes deployments). => onModuleDestroy() Triggered when the application is shutting down. Use it to start cleaning module-specific resources. => beforeApplicationShutdown() Runs after all onModuleDestroy() hooks finish. React’s latest update genuinely made me pause and say — “okay, this changes things.” I’ve been working with React for a while now in the MERN ecosystem, and this release feels less like a normal version bump and more like a shift in how we’ll build apps going forward. Here’s what stood out to me the most: The new Server Actions concept is huge. We can now handle async operations directly from components without writing separate API boilerplate for every small thing. Less folder-hopping. Less repetitive code. More focus on actual product building. The new use() API is another big step toward cleaner async React. Data fetching starts to feel natural instead of something we “manage around” with extra libraries and patterns. Forms got superpowers too. Handling pending states, errors, optimistic UI — it’s now built into React itself. This is something we previously depended on multiple libraries for. And the optimistic UI support? That instant feedback experience for users is going to become the default expectation now. Also loved the small but powerful improvement where we can manage document metadata directly inside components. It sounds simple, but it removes so much friction in real projects. The bigger picture: React is clearly moving beyond “just a UI library.” It’s slowly becoming a full-stack capable architecture where: data fetching is simpler mutations are cleaner performance is built in developer experience is smoother For developers like us who are building full-stack apps with MongoDB, Express, React, and Node — this is massive. Less glue code. Less context switching. More shipping. My biggest takeaway from this release: The developers who adapt to these patterns early are going to build faster and think in a completely different way than the old “client → API → state management” flow.
