I'm fascinated with the WordPress 7.0 release (or lack thereof), and while I figure a lot of my facination is because I've never actually cared about a WordPress release before, I'm still having a good amount of fun watching the situation and I keep going back and forth on whether the most recent delay is bad news or the best thing that could've happened. I'll explain: WordPress 7.0 was supposed to ship during WordCamp Asia in April. Instead, the real-time collaboration feature needs what the core team is calling "a deeper architectural fix, not a late-cycle patch." New target is mid-to-late May. Updated schedule by April 22. And so for all the hype around AI, the AI features — the AI Client, the Abilities API, the MCP Adapter — all seem to be stable. They're not the problem. The delay is about collaboration infrastructure, not AI. And I'm getting the sense that this is a distinction that matters. And it creates a window. Agencies seem to be in one of two modes right now. Either they're ignoring 7.0 entirely because "we'll deal with it when it ships," or they're anxious about the delay and using that anxiety as an excuse to do nothing. But, as far as I can tell, both of these modes miss the window: now's the time to audit one's plugin stacks, set up staging environments, brief clients before clients Google it themselves. This is my recommendation for anyone with WordPress clients. Take advantage of the window. The ones who wait are going to be scrambling in late May wondering why half their sites broke. I'm not saying this because I have some master plan for it. I'm saying it because I've watched this exact pattern play out with releases all the time, major or minor. The preparation window is always obvious in retrospect and always wasted in the moment. I came across this piece that lays out a pretty solid 5-step checklist for agencies and anyone with WordPress clients — plugin audits, staging, client comms, AI feature evaluation, search infrastructure. Worth a read if you're managing WordPress sites and haven't started preparing yet. #WordPress #WordPress7 #AIStrategy #DigitalTransformation #WebDevelopment

WordPress in 2026 is not the same platform it was five years ago and that's a good thing. 🚀 After powering over 43% of the web, WordPress has continued to evolve in ways that even its critics didn't anticipate: 🔹 Full Site Editing (FSE) has matured, giving developers and designers complete visual control without sacrificing performance. 🔹 AI-powered plugins are now deeply integrated. From content generation to SEO optimization, AI is no longer a bonus feature; it's an expectation. 🔹 Headless WordPress is mainstream. Decoupled architectures using WordPress as a CMS backend paired with React or Next.js frontends are now the go-to for enterprise-grade projects. 🔹 Performance-first development with Core Web Vitals remaining a key ranking factor, the WordPress ecosystem has doubled down on speed, with leaner themes and smarter caching built in by default. 🔹 Security has levelled up; two-factor authentication, automatic vulnerability patching, and better role management are now standard expectations, not premium features. The narrative that "WordPress is outdated" never held up it just kept getting stronger. Whether you're a developer, digital marketer, or business owner, understanding where WordPress is heading in 2026 is critical to making smarter technology decisions. What WordPress trend are you most excited about this year? Most people love the idea of a “vibe-coded” website clean, minimal, custom. But here’s the thing: a coded-from-scratch site and a WordPress site live in two different universes. One evolves. The other freezes the moment you launch it. WordPress keeps improving automatically. Security patches. Performance boosts. New features. A global community pushing updates without you lifting a finger. Vibe-coded websites? Everything is manual. Every fix, feature, layout tweak, or security patch requires fresh development time. If you don’t update regularly, the stack ages and problems pile up. And when it comes to long-term cost, scalability, security, SEO… WordPress quietly wins almost every practical category. Not because it’s “easy.” But because it’s a living ecosystem built to grow with your business, not drain it. If you're a business owner who wants a website you can update, scale, and optimize without constant developer dependency, WordPress is the smarter investment. Hands down. I build high-performance, SEO-friendly WordPress websites for businesses that want long-term growth without long-term technical headaches. If you’re comparing WordPress vs custom code for your next project, I’m happy to walk you through what actually makes sense for your business. #WordPress #WebDevelopment #AICoding #DigitalStrategy #WebsiteDesign #TechDebate #WebDesignCommunity #OpenSource #BusinessGrowth #ModernWeb

Been getting some messages asking where I disappeared to. Here's the real answer. I've been doing WordPress development for years. Themes, plugins, custom builds, technical support, migrations. I've done it all. But about a year ago, I started sitting with an uncomfortable question. Why do so many technically excellent websites fail commercially? Clean code. Fast load times. Good UX. And still, no organic traffic. No meaningful ad performance. No email list. Just a beautiful site sitting in the dark. I decided to stop guessing and start learning. I spent months going deep on SEO, the technical side that most people skip. Understanding how WordPress site architecture affects crawlability. How Core Web Vitals actually work in practice, not just in theory. How to build a content structure that search engines can navigate cleanly. Then I went further. Meta Ads. Google Analytics. Email marketing. Content marketing. Not because I wanted to become a marketer, and off course I can switch. But because I wanted to understand the full picture of what makes a website work for the business it represents. What I found is that the best WordPress developers in 2026 aren't just builders. They're translators between the technical platform and the business outcome a client actually needs. That's the lens I'm bringing back here. What got you into WordPress? I'd like to know your story. #WebDesign #WordPress #Web

WordPress 7.0 is on the horizon – and it might just reshape how we build websites again. The WordPress community is buzzing about the upcoming 7.0 release, and as someone who works closely with web projects, I think this is more than just a version bump. It feels like a turning point toward a faster, smarter, and more collaborative way of building online experiences. Here’s what’s catching my attention: Real-time collaboration – think multiple people editing at once, Google Docs style. A more powerful block editor with better design controls. New blocks like Breadcrumbs, Icons, and a smoother Navigation block. AI-ready foundations for smarter workflows. A faster, more modern admin experience. What stands out to me is this: WordPress is quietly moving beyond being “just a CMS” and becoming a full digital creation platform. For developers, designers, and business owners, that could mean: Faster build and review cycles Better teamwork across roles More design freedom without custom code for everything Sites that are easier to maintain and evolve I’m genuinely excited about what this unlocks for creators and businesses who want scalable, user-friendly websites. The web keeps evolving – and WordPress continues to grow right along with it. What do you think about WordPress 7.0? Will it change how you build or manage websites? #WordPress #WebDevelopment #WebDesign #DigitalTransformation #Tech

Why does a WordPress update break one site but leave another perfectly fine? 🏗️ In the agency world, major WordPress Core update days are nerve-wracking. You hit update on 50 client sites. 45 are fine. 5 break instantly due to a plugin conflict. Why those five? It’s rarely because WordPress "changed everything." It’s usually because a specific plugin on those sites was living on borrowed time. The root cause of most plugin breakage during major updates is brittle code. When a plugin developer takes shortcuts—by using outdated methods that WordPress warned them to stop using years ago, or by hooking into internal parts of WordPress not meant for public use—they create a ticking time bomb. A major Core update is simply the moment that timer hits zero. Why this matters for site owners and agencies: This is why "active installs" isn't the only metric for choosing a plugin. You need to look at the developer's commitment to modern standards. 👉 Are they testing against WordPress Betas? 👉 Are they resolving deprecation warnings actively? 👉 Is their codebase modern, or stuck in 2015? Stability isn't about avoiding updates. Stability is about choosing tools built to survive them. Have you had to swap out a "staple" plugin recently because it couldn't keep up with Core? https://lnkd.in/dV7JVWBd #WordPressAgency #WebsiteManagement #DigitalStrategy #SiteReliability #Scriptudio
