📘 Today I Learned: File Handling in Python File handling is one of the most powerful and essential concepts in Python. It allows us to create, read, write, update, and manage files—making it easier to handle large volumes of data outside the program. Here’s what I learned and practiced today 👇 🔹 1. Opening a File We use the open() function with two main arguments — the filename and mode. file = open("data.txt", "r") # 'r' means read mode Common modes include: 'r' → Read (default mode) 'w' → Write (creates or overwrites a file) 'a' → Append (adds data to the end of the file) 'r+' → Read and Write 'x' → Create a new file (error if file exists) 🔹 2. Reading from a File Python offers several methods to read data: file.read() # Reads the entire content file.readline() # Reads one line at a time file.readlines() # Reads all lines into a list 🔹 3. Writing to a File We can write or append text easily: with open("data.txt", "w") as file: file.write("Hello, world!\n") file.write("Learning file handling in Python.") If the file doesn’t exist, Python automatically creates it. 🔹 4. The with Statement Using with open() is considered best practice — it automatically closes the file after execution, preventing memory leaks. with open("data.txt", "r") as file: data = file.read() print(data) 🔹 5. Working with Binary Files Python can also handle binary files like images, PDFs, and audio files using modes like 'rb' or 'wb'. with open("image.png", "rb") as file: content = file.read() 🔹 6.
