If you are starting with GitHub SpeckKit then make sure to update git commit skill. Default git commit skill does not consider actual task implemented and put a generic title and description in PRs

Most people try to memorize Git commands… and that’s where things go wrong. Git is not about commands. It’s about understanding the workflow. I just published a video where I break down Git & GitHub using a real company scenario 👇 👨💼 Tech Lead creates the project 👨💻 Developer clones the repo 🌿 Works on a feature branch 🔁 Raises a Pull Request ✅ Code gets reviewed & merged No unnecessary theory. Just how things actually work in real projects. If you’ve ever been confused with Git, this will make it clear. 🎥 Watch here: https://lnkd.in/gUnf8av4 Let me know in comments: 👉 Which part of Git confused you the most? #Git #GitHub #SoftwareDevelopment #Programming #LearnToCode #Developers #TechEducation #Hosiyar

Most people skip the basics. Today, I went back to them—and it made a difference. I revisited Git & GitHub fundamentals through Kevin Stratvert’s tutorial, and it helped me strengthen the core workflow that every professional should know. Here are some key commands I revised today: 🔹 git init – Initialize a repository 🔹 git add – Stage changes 🔹 git commit – Save changes with a message 🔹 git push – Upload code to GitHub 🔹 git pull – Fetch and merge updates 🔹 git clone – Copy a repository 🔹 git branch – Create/manage branches 🔹 git merge – Combine branches It’s not just about knowing these commands— It’s about understanding how to collaborate, track changes, and build projects efficiently. Git was built to solve versioning problems, but with GitHub, it’s frustrating to worry that your work from yesterday could vanish after a merge—not because of your own mistake, but because the merge queue could corrupt history. That’s not acceptable and so scary.

Git isn’t going anywhere in 2026. But confusion around it still is. So we built Practical Git and GitHub differently — now live on Programiz. No command memorization first. Just a clear mental model → then real workflows. From zero → to open source contribution. (Link in comments)

Day 12 | Tip The 4 Git commands you'll use every single day When I started with Git, the number of commands felt overwhelming. Then I realised — 90% of daily Git work uses just 4 commands: 1. git status — see what changed 2. git add . — stage your changes 3. git commit -m '' — save a snapshot 4. git push — upload to GitHub Master these 4 first. Everything else comes later. #Git #GitHub #DevTips #LearningToCode #100DaysOfCode

Day 5 of my 30-day learning challenge with Mentorship for Acceleration Today’s lesson: Git and GitHub are simple… until they’re not 😅 While trying to submit my Excel assignment, I ran into a few issues: Git couldn’t find my file (turned out the file name didn’t match exactly) I saw “untracked files” and didn’t understand what it meant My push didn’t work because authentication was pending in the browser What I learned from this: File names must match exactly when using Git commands “Untracked files” simply means Git hasn’t added your file yet Always complete browser authentication when pushing to GitHub. After fixing these, I was able to successfully commit and push my project. It wasnt easy, nobody said it was going to be anyways. #M4Ace #30DayChallenge #GitHub #DataAnalyticsJourney

🚀 Today I learned Git & GitHub — one of the most essential tools for every developer. As a Computer Science student learning Java Full Stack Development, understanding version control is not optional anymore. Why should we learn Git & GitHub? 🤔 ✅ Track and manage code changes efficiently ✅ Collaborate with teams without overwriting each other's work ✅ Maintain project history and revert mistakes easily ✅ Showcase projects professionally to recruiters using GitHub ✅ Contribute to Open Source projects Key topics I learned today: 🔹 Version Control System (VCS) 🔹 What is Git? 🔹 What is GitHub? 🔹 Git installation & configuration 🔹 git init 🔹 git status 🔹 git add 🔹 git commit 🔹 git log 🔹 git branch 🔹 git checkout 🔹 git merge 🔹 git push 🔹 git pull 🔹 Creating repositories on GitHub 🔹 Connecting local project with remote repository Learning Git feels like learning a time machine for code ⏳💻 Still practicing daily to get comfortable with real project workflows. 📚 Reference Video: https://lnkd.in/gnHCcrdu #Git #GitHub #VersionControl #JavaDeveloper #FullStackDevelopment #Programming #SoftwareDevelopment #LearningJourney #ComputerScience #Developer

If you keep pushing in this direction (less Git, more agent state + intent + consequence), you’re not competing with GitHub or Claude Code anymore — you’re defining a new category. -GPT https://lnkd.in/gsdpcaEk
