The chronicle feature of GitHub Copilot CLI is really great for teaching you how to improve your personal use of Copilot by getting tips or improving your local primitives It is soon coming to Visual Studio Code as well Tinkering with the open PR I spotted an interesting feature You can also sync it to the cloud either for your personal use only or allow repo level contributors to see it Repo level telemetry that is aimed for improving the work of an entire team is super interesting use case and can surface repeating patterns of usage that can be encoded into primitives (instructions, skills etc) for benefit of an entire working team This is a feature that on its own can kill a few startups I heard about Hope GitHub will productize this and allow to expose the data to manipulate it I can already see how I hook this up to daily and weekly GitHub Next Continues Workflows that provide team level tips and opportunities to improve and create a closed feedback loop for AI improvement

Hosted GitHub Copilot Dev Days – Exploring the Future of AI-Powered Development I recently had the privilege of hosting GitHub Copilot Dev Days, where I got to engage with an amazing community of developers and dive deep into how AI is transforming the way we build software. During the session, I covered some powerful aspects of the GitHub Copilot ecosystem: 🔹 GitHub Copilot in VS Code We explored how Copilot seamlessly integrates into VS Code to provide real-time code suggestions, improve productivity, and help developers write cleaner and faster code. Live demos showcased how it assists across different languages and use cases. 🔹 GitHub Copilot CLI One of the most exciting parts was demonstrating the Copilot CLI, where developers can use natural language directly in the terminal to execute commands, generate scripts, and simplify complex workflows. It truly brings AI assistance beyond the editor. 🔹 GitHub Copilot Cloud Agent We also discussed the Copilot Cloud Agent and how it enhances collaboration by enabling intelligent code generation, context awareness, and scalable AI support across projects and teams. The session was highly interactive, with great discussions around real-world applications, best practices, and how developers can effectively integrate AI into their daily workflows. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and curiosity among participants as they explored the potential of AI-assisted development. Attended GitHub Copilot Devs Day a few days ago. Went in expecting the usual. Left thinking about something different. Not the sessions, the room. Most students there hadn't explored the GitHub Student Dev Pack. Tools like Cursor and Antigravity were new names for a lot of people. And meanwhile the sessions were literally talking about how AI is changing what companies expect in interviews, which agents you use, how efficiently you use them, how you prompt. That gap is real. The other thing that stayed with me both sessions kept circling back to the same point. Vague context doesn't just give you bad output. It gives you insecure output. In a real project, in a real company, that's not a small thing. And still the loudest message of the day wasn't about tools at all. It was: fundamentals first. AI second. You can't control something you don't understand. We have to be the driver , not let AI drive. Are tech events worth it as a student? I think yes — but not always for what's on the agenda. #humanwritten GitHub Copilot runs our dev teams and is a huge part of our organisation. So when they announce something like this, it is a big deal: "New sign-ups for GitHub Copilot Pro are paused with usage limits tightened and Opus 4.7 no longer available." (Link in full article in comments). Anyone who has ever run out of tokens mid sprint will know how much this can affect you. If you rely on these agents and the latest models, then this is a huge RISK for you. Our entire company is on the Business Plans, so THIS particular change actually improves the situation for us, but adoption of agents for frontier firms is in its infancy - what happens when the other 99% of companies start using these Agents in the way they are designed to be used for truly agentic software delivery? We have not even reached the rapidly advancing agentic model where agents are managing agents in a truly autonomous development scenario (Moltbook for Dev?) - we still have the odd human prompting teams of agents, which therefore limits outcomes to the speed of the slowest component. What happens in the next X months when we move to truly autonomous agentic work? Who will get throttled? The same applies to M365 Copilot Cowork or Claude Design and all the other supply chain AI software we use to deliver amazing outcomes to our customers. It also makes me think about the widening inequality gap. The "haves versus the have-nots" - those who can afford AI will rapidly innovate, whereas those who cannot will remain behind in the human-powered software world, in a nightmare of recurring standups, slow progress, and 1000s of backlog items.
