I used to prepare for first dates like technical interviews. • Had notes with possible questions. • Analyzed my responses. • Prepared stories that made me look good. And honestly? It helped. Because first dates make you: • Extremely nervous • Blank on what to say • Too attracted to think clearly The preparation gave me a safety net. • I wasn't scrambling for words. • I had go-to stories. • I felt more confident. Later I stopped needing it. But early on? It was a game changer. Here's what I prepared: • 3 interesting stories from my life • 5 questions to ask her • 2 backup topics if conversation died Took 20 minutes before each date. Confidence went up 10x. Don't feel bad about preparing. Your analytical brain is an asset. Use it. What do you prepare before dates? Please don't tell "flowers" ;) #softwareengineer #datingadvice

Most developers don’t fail interviews because they gave the wrong answer. They fail because they couldn’t explain how they got there. It’s not just about solving the problem. It’s about walking the interviewer through your thought process. What did you think first? What did you try? Why did you choose one approach over another? In real-world projects, the ability to reason through problems and communicate your logic clearly is more valuable than textbook perfect code. The next time you solve a problem, try this: Say it out loud Explain each step like you're teaching Justify your decisions That’s the kind of clarity that sets you apart in interviews and on teams. #Interviews #SoftwareEngineering #DeveloperMindset

I study for days and panic for the 3-4 hours before the interview, then choke on a question I know the answer to, but just could not get it from my brain to my mouth. Do you ever question why our industry is the only one that demands testing of our skills before employment? No interview is as stringent, I think (but could be wrong), for doctors, lawyers, post office workers, etc., who have 10+ years of experience in their field when they look for a new job.
