Software developers in 2030 be like:

Before AI developers never wrote by hand all the code. We used to copy paste from stackoverflow, code snippets from official documentation, code snippets generated with extension inside vscode (auto complete). But we used to adapt this code to solve our problems. The syntax has never been the problem. The problem solving skills has always been what makes a programmer good or bad. What is different with is that some will hand their problem solving skills to AI instead of thinking by themselves. In the long term I do not think that habit is a good thing. And when the AI does not know how to solve the problem, only the problem solving skills will unstuck. If junior developers use AI to solve their problems I can’t see them develop the problem solving skills. Or maybe they will find new ways to develop them. We used to suffer to learn and develop problem solving skills. Maybe this era is over. Time will tell

If AI writes the code… the developer who survives is the one who understands the problem. One day, I’ll tell my grandchildren that we actually had to read the docs and use Stack Overflow hahaha

The "ability to express what I feel" is the hardest skill for a Software Engineer.

Ability to express and explain what you feel can be heluva important in a lot of fields.

Good taste is nothing to ignore. -- Imagine somebody that have a choice between two solutions, one elegant and simple, and other complex and ugly. And the guy choose the ugly one. -- Code smell. Another factor of taste. Somebody with good taste avoid code with bad smell. -- So if you have good taste, you choose good solutions, simple code that is readable and follow good practices. Thats a win-win to me.

He means he's a project manager

If jobs nowadays continues to strive for more AI, our natural coding skills will start to become less valuable. As AGI grows stronger, even designing and engineering systems can now be prompted to AI. Maybe I should start skilling up with the "TASTE" instead of technical skills 🤣
