Learn Inventory Optimization with Python at your own pace! Join a two-day online workshop on inventory optimization led by Professor Isik Bicer (Schulich School of Business, York University) designed for PhD students, academics, and professional researchers who want to bridge theory and practice using Python. You’ll get a solid grounding in deterministic and stochastic inventory models (EOQ, newsvendor, base-stock, reorder models), learn to measure key inventory KPIs, build simulation models, and complete hands-on Python exercises that translate directly to research projects and industry applications. All sessions are livestreamed via Zoom, with recordings, code, data, and slides available for 30 days after the seminar and an expert-moderated Q&A forum; participants receive an Instats certificate of completion (ECTS-equivalent points shown where applicable). #OperationsResearch #SupplyChainManagement #Management #ComputerScience #SoftwareEngineering #Statistics #DataScience #Economics #Python #Research #ResearchTraining #Instats

I recently had the opportunity to present on “Loops in Python” as part of our Project Based Learning (PBL) program at Innomatics Research Labs. In this presentation, our team covered the fundamentals of loops including for loops, while loops, nested loops, and loop control statements such as break, continue, and pass, along with simple Python examples. This experience helped us strengthen our understanding of Python programming and improve our presentation and teamwork skills. New Instats livestreaming seminar: Plotting and Programming in Python Join our hands-on workshop on programming and plotting in Python for researchers—taught by The Carpentries and tailored for PhD students, postdocs, and research staff who work with tabular and longitudinal data. You’ll learn to set up a reliable scientific Python environment, wrangle and clean data with pandas, write reusable functions and modular code, apply plotting principles to produce publication-quality figures with Matplotlib/Seaborn, and adopt reproducible analysis workflows that reduce errors and accelerate manuscript-ready results; sessions blend conceptual depth with practical, Gapminder-based exercises so you leave with concrete, immediately applicable skills. Live seminars run via Zoom, with recordings, materials and a monitored Q&A forum available for 30 days afterward (on-demand access with the same 30-day materials window is also offered), and participants receive an Instats certificate of completion (ECTS equivalent shown for eligible European students). Spaces are limited—learn more and enroll today. #DataScience #ComputerScience #Education #Statistics #Python #Research #ResearchTraining #Instats

🔹 Strengthening python foundations - Modules & User input handling Recently completed a hands-on Jupyter Notebook focused on mastering Python modules and user input handling through practical exercises. This learning experience deepened my understanding of how Python simplifies complex operations and interacts dynamically with users. Key learnings: 1) Exploring the math module for efficient mathematical computations 2) Understanding different ways to import modules 3) Applying functions like ceil, floor, round, and pow for precise calculations 4) Learning the importance of type conversion (string to int) in user inputs 5) Working with the input() function to capture and process user data This milestone was completed under the guidance of KODI PRAKASH SENAPATI Sir, whose structured and practical teaching approach made these foundational concepts clear and easy to apply. Continuing to build strong fundamentals in Python and improving problem-solving skills step by step 🚀 #PythonProgramming #LearningPython #CodingBasics #PythonModules #UserInput

I’ll be honest, I'm lazy. My university assigned some video lectures to watch to pass a non-credit hour course. I really didn't feel like sitting through hours of pre-recorded lectures, so I spent some time writing a Python script to do it for me! The logic was simple: 1) Open the lecture. 2) Mute it (so Chrome doesn't block the play command). 3) Sniff out the video duration. 4) Teleport to the last 3 seconds. 5) Close and repeat. Stack: Python + Playwright. Outcome: Hours of lectures finished in just about 5 minutes. Peak productivity. #Python #Playwright #Automation #University #LazyEngineering

Applied My Python Learning to a Simple Data Project. As part of my learning journey with TechCrush I recently completed a beginner-friendly project: a Student Score Analyzer using Python. Using dictionaries and basic Python operations, I analyzed a dataset of student scores and derived the following insights: Average Score: 81.4 Highest Score: 92 Lowest Score: 67 This exercise highlighted an important principle in data science: Data only becomes valuable when it is properly structured, analyzed, and interpreted. What stood out to me was how a few lines of code can transform raw numbers into meaningful insights that can support decision-making—especially in an educational context. With my background in mathematics and teaching, this is an exciting step toward applying programming to real-world problem solving. Here’s a snippet of the code and output from the project 👇 #Python #DataScienceJourney #LearningByDoing #Mathematics #Analytics

Most beginners think a variable is a complicated concept. It is not. A variable is just a labelled box. 📦 name = 'Haris' This means: → Create a box → Put a label on it that says 'name' → Put 'Haris' inside the box That is it. age = 20 → a box labelled age holding 20 score = 98.5 → a box labelled score holding 98.5 Python is just organizing boxes. Once I understood this, everything else made sense. I am currently on Week 1 of documenting my Python journey publicly. If you are learning too — follow along. 🧵 What concept confused you most when you started programming? 👇 #Python #Programming #LearnPython #BuildingInPublic #AI #MachineLearning #100DaysOfCode #TechPakistan

Highlights from Week 3 of the Beginner Python Workshop at Hub AI Lund 🐍 This session focused on data structures — how Python stores and organizes information. Participants explored lists, dictionaries, tuples, and sets, and began thinking about how different structures help solve different types of problems. We also touched on an important concept for beginners: the difference between copying data and referencing it. With two sessions left in the series, we’re looking forward to continuing the journey next Tuesday. Interested in joining future workshops or learning more about what we do at Hub AI Lund? Feel free to follow our page or reach out. #Python #Programming #LundUniversity #AI #LearnToCode #TechCommunity
