I recently had the opportunity to participate in the IEEE Region 4 Nexus event, where I presented my work on machine learning–based anomaly detection. In this project, I focused on identifying fraudulent transactions in highly imbalanced datasets using the Isolation Forest algorithm. I’ve recently been working on a project focused on analyzing water flow using OpenCV and Python 🌊 The objective is to detect water regions in video frames, track their movement, and visualize the flow direction using arrows. While the concept seems straightforward, implementing it has been both challenging and rewarding. Through this project, I’ve been exploring: Color-based detection using HSV Image processing techniques to refine results Motion tracking between frames Visualizing real-time flow patterns This project is still a work in progress. I am currently working on improving detection accuracy under varying lighting conditions, enhancing the smoothness of flow tracking, and optimizing performance for better real-time results. It’s been a valuable experience applying theory to practical scenarios and continuously refining the approach to achieve more reliable outcomes. #OpenCV #Python #ComputerVision #ImageProcessing #TechProject

There is a massive difference between watching a bioinformatics tutorial and actually watching your own code run. Lately, I have stopped just studying and started doing. I have found that project based learning is the only thing that truly closes the gap between theory and execution. It’s not always pretty, and there are plenty of errors along the way, but my confidence is growing much faster than it ever did with passive watching.
