That hit me hard while doing today’s Python MahaRevision 👇 📘 Chapter 8: Functions & Recursion Instead of writing the same logic again and again, I learned how to simplify everything: → Functions: write once, reuse anytime → Parameters & return values → Breaking big problems into smaller pieces → Recursion: when a function calls itself Practice set done: Built functions for repeated tasks, passed inputs, returned outputs, and tried recursion problems (confusing at first, but interesting). Not gonna lie—recursion felt weird in the beginning. But it also showed me a different way of thinking. The real shift? It’s not about writing more code… it’s about writing smarter code. “𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕.” Today I explored an important concept in Python that clarified many doubts for me: 𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 At a basic level: 🔹 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 (cannot be changed after creation) Examples: int, float, string, tuple → Any modification creates a new object 🔹 𝐌𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐬 (can be modified in place) Examples: list, dictionary, set → Changes happen within the same object --- One key insight I found interesting: Multiple variables can reference the same object in memory (for mutable types). Here’s what I worked on today 👇 💻 Python • Explored lambda functions, map(), filter(), and reduce() • Practiced recursion (tail and non-tail) • Learned about decorators and how functions act as first-class objects 🧠 Aptitude • Solved questions to improve logical thinking ⚠️ Note: Didn’t work on development today — focusing on strengthening fundamentals. 💡 Lesson: Understanding concepts deeply takes time, but it makes everything easier later.
