Francisco Manuel Soto Ramírez’s Post

Most engineers think AI in IDEs is just for generating code. I use Cursor to generate all documents for a project in minutes. The real productivity win? Navigating, exploring, and auditing code with AI while it writes it. I finish tasks faster, avoid errors, and save hours each week. IDEs aren't only about writing code. They are the productivity workstation for software engineers ♻️ REPOST to help someone today 👉 Follow strategizeyourcareer.com for more #softwareengineering #coding #programming

I use JetBrains Rider's AI Assistant and their AI agents such as Junie and Claude Code Agent to: - Write code and generate whole projects - To analyze complex solutions, especially the legacy or old ones - Write pull request descriptions - Write release notes

My favorite thing is using cursor to generate diagrams using mermaid js. You’ll impress people by how fast you make them but in reality it’s just a representation of what’s in your head.

Claude models by default trying to generate shell scripts and md text files where describe how to run, access, debug generated code.

Code moves faster when the environment thinks with you.

Also great for understanding legacy code nobody wants to touch. Ask it to explain instead of digging for hours.

Mastering IDEs boosts productivity a lot, and saves hundreds of hours.

This is a great point! I’ve always thought of IDEs as just code editors. Mind blown that they can handle documentation and code auditing too.

Exactly! The real power of AI in IDEs isn’t typing code, it’s understanding it, we’re finally moving from code generation to code intelligence.

Great insights, Francisco Manuel Soto Ramírez! AI in IDEs is definitely more than just code generation. Using Cursor for documentation and code navigation sounds like it’s really boosting your efficiency.
