If You Don’t Understand Functions, You Don’t Understand Python. When I first started learning Python, I thought functions were just another topic. I was wrong. Functions are the moment you stop writing messy code… and start thinking like a programmer. The simple truth: A function is reusable code that does one job well. It saves time. It reduces errors. It makes your work scalable. Instead of repeating code 10 times, you write it once: def calculate_total(price, quantity): return price * quantity And now your logic is clean, reusable, professional. In many programming languages, you must declare the data type first (int, string, float, etc.). But in Python… you don’t.
