Your code documentation is out of date. Fix it automagically ✨. Introducing: *Magic Docs* Magic Docs are self-updating docs, powered by your favorite coding agent. Magic docs are updated automatically every night based on the current state of your codebase, focusing on commits in the last 24h. Just markdown files in your repo with the first line(s): # MAGIC DOC: <title> *<optional description>* --- Open Source, MIT licensed: https://lnkd.in/gT2cpCSn Inspired by Claude Code's internal magic docs concept

My LinkedIn feed is full of Claude Code tutorials lately, but this short talk from Boris Cherny, the tool’s creator, was actually worth watching. It’s under 30 minutes and covers the parts that matter once you’re past just playing with the tool: codebase Q&A, context management, custom tool integration, and how to use CLAUDE.md effectively, etc. Nothing fancy. Just the fundamentals that make Claude Code much more useful in real work. https://lnkd.in/ePeSkXGm

Most code changes make perfect sense in the moment they’re written. The challenge comes later, when someone revisits the code, and the original reasoning behind it isn’t obvious anymore. Teams often end up searching through commits, messages, and old discussions just to understand a decision that once felt straightforward. When context fades, even simple updates can turn into unnecessary debugging sessions. SmoothDev helps teams keep that context connected to their code by automatically do

If you’ve been curious how Claude Code is actually structured under the hood, https://ccunpacked.dev/ is one of the easiest study resources I’ve seen. Built after Claude Code’s source briefly leaked this week, it turns 500k+ lines into a visual step-by-step guide to how Claude Code works; covering the agent loop, tools, orchestration, and what happens after a user enters a message. A very useful reference if you want to understand how a serious coding agent is put together without getting lost in the codebase.

This section in Claude' docs related to "Develop your intuition" (https://lnkd.in/eHYH4BSM) is exatcly what makes senior devs and experimented software engineers what they are. They're good at their job cause they developped their intuition, they know their tools, they're mastering them and they know where and when to use them. "Don't believe the lies, AI is a tool that needs guidance !"

Been collecting the principles that I've found add a TON of leverage in coding projects where humans and coding agents work closely together. Publishing them in a repo here that can be installed as skills for your coding agents. https://lnkd.in/gZ59ECkR

How do you keep up with new Claude Code best practices? My idea: create a /bestpractice skill that stores the right repos, people, and content, and continuously surfaces ideas to improve my setup. (Clip below from last week’s Claude Code AMA.)

Documentation dies when it lives far from the code. A wiki nobody visits. A Confluence page from 2019. A Google Doc that's "somewhere." Keep docs close: README in the repo, decision log next to the code, examples alongside APIs. If updating docs requires leaving your IDE, they won't get updated. 📘 Where does your documentation live? #documentation #softwareengineering #developerexperience

Used to think writing more code = better dev Now I think, If I can remove 20 lines and everything still works… That’s a win. Cleaner code > more code Always.
