🔰 PHASE–1 | Foundations 📘 Day–3: Types of SQL Commands To work confidently with databases, it’s important to understand how SQL commands are structured and categorized. Each type of SQL command serves a specific purpose in managing data and database systems. 📌 SQL commands are classified into five main types: DDL (Data Definition Language) – Define and modify database structure 🏗️ DML (Data Manipulation Language) – Insert, update, and delete data ✍️ DQL (Data Query Language) – Retrieve data using queries 🔍 DCL (Data Control Language) – Manage access and permissions 🔐 TCL (Transaction Control Language) – Handle transactions and maintain consistency 🔄 Understanding these categories helps in: ✔ Writing clean and structured SQL queries ✔ Managing databases efficiently ✔ Building strong backend and data fundamentals I’m continuing my SQL learning journey step by step — focusing on clarity, consistency, and strong fundamentals. Learning fundamentals. One concept at a time. 🚀 #SQL #DBMS #DatabaseManagement #DataEngineering #ComputerScience #TechLearning #LearningInPublic #StudentDeveloper #SQLBasics

This week was all about going beyond just “learning SQL”. I didn’t just study PostgreSQL — I actually built with it. Here’s what I worked on: 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝘀 • Joins (INNER, LEFT, RIGHT, FULL) • Indexing & query optimization • Transactions & ACID properties 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗤𝗟 • CTEs (including recursive) • Window functions (ROW_NUMBER, RANK, LAG) • CASE, COALESCE, ROLLUP Most importantly — applied learning 𝗜 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: • 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲 • 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲 Worked on: • Table relationships (1-1, 1-M, M-M) • Foreign keys & constraints • Structuring data like real applications Big realization: SQL isn’t just about writing queries — it’s about thinking like a system designer. Still a long way to go, but this week felt like a solid step forward. You can also check the two DB designs in my 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼: https://lnkd.in/gHsgtx4W Would love feedback on my DB designs. https://lnkd.in/dR2jcm2s Hi Connections, The SQL WHERE clause is used to filter records based on conditions, and it supports conditional operators (like =, <, >), logical operators (AND, OR, NOT), and wildcard characters (used with LIKE for pattern matching). These tools make queries highly flexible and precise. https://lnkd.in/dR2jcm2s #sasdeveloper #sasprogramming #sasdevelopers #sasdeveloper #sqldeveloper #sql #sqlserver #sqldatabase #dataanalytics #dataanalysis #dataanalyst #SAS #SQL #DataAnalytics #Programming #DataScience #LearningAndDevelopment #KnowledgeSharing #CareerGrowth Please Subscribe, watch, comment and share

SQL remains one of the most in-demand and timeless skills in tech, and for good reason. Nearly every application that stores data relies on it. This beginner-friendly Introduction to SQL covers everything needed to get started working with databases: → What SQL is and why it matters (ANSI standard, RDBMS basics) → Core statements: SELECT, INSERT INTO, UPDATE and DELETE → Filtering data with WHERE, AND, OR and NOT → Sorting and grouping with ORDER BY and GROUP BY → Joining tables using INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, RIGHT JOIN and FULL JOIN → Aggregate functions: COUNT, SUM, AVG, MIN and MAX → Constraints: PRIMARY KEY, FOREIGN KEY, NOT NULL, UNIQUE and CHECK → Creating and modifying databases and tables with CREATE, ALTER and DROP → Advanced topics: UNION, HAVING, EXISTS, ANY, ALL and subqueries → Built-in functions for dates, text formatting and rounding → A full SQL statement syntax reference Whether starting from zero or filling in knowledge gaps, this is a solid foundation for anyone working with data. Save this post and share it with a teammate or student who is just getting started with databases. #SQL #Database #DataEngineering #LearnSQL #DataAnalysis #MySQL #PostgreSQL #TechSkills #CodingForBeginners #DataScience #BackendDevelopment #RDBMS #TechEducation #SoftwareDevelopment #100DaysOfCode #Programming #DataManagement #TechCommunity #LearnToCode #DatabaseManagement

Strengthening My SQL & DBMS Fundamentals Today, I focused on building a strong foundation in databases by working on some core SQL concepts: • Creating databases and tables • Inserting and selecting data • Filtering records using WHERE • Updating records with UPDATE • Deleting specific data using DELETE with WHERE • Modifying structure with ALTER TABLE • Using DISTINCT, sorting, LIMIT, and OFFSET • Performing aggregations (COUNT, SUM, etc.) • Grouping data with GROUP BY I also practiced these concepts hands-on by solving SQL labs on labs.chaicode.com, which helped me understand how these queries work in real scenarios. Consistent practice is the key. Thanks to Hitesh Choudhary ,Piyush Garg and Chai Aur Code team for teaching these concepts easily and creating such amazing labs for hands on practices #DBMS #SQL #Backend #ChaiCode

Mastered the Fundamentals of Databases & SQL! Another intense day of learning! Today’s session was all about understanding how data really moves behind the scenes. One of the biggest eye-openers was realizing that a Database isn't just a "storage box"—it’s the engine that fetches data from physical sources (HDD/SSD) to serve APIs efficiently. Key concepts covered: -SQL vs. NoSQL: Choosing the right tool for the job. -Command Categories: DDL (Data Definition), DML (Manipulation), and DQL (Querying). -Data Operations: Practiced CREATE, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE. -Advanced Queries: Aggregations, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, DISTINCT, and handling pagination with LIMIT & OFFSET. Golden Rule of the Day: Always, and I mean always, double-check your WHERE clause before hitting DELETE. 🛑 Chai Aur Code,Hitesh Choudhary,Piyush Garg, #SQL #Databases #FullStackDevelopment #WebDevelopment #CodingJourney #ChaiAurCode #LearningEveryday
