🚀 Excited to share my latest full-stack project: F.R.I.D.A.Y! 🤖 I’ve been building an intelligent AI Chat Agent Dashboard, and I recently hit a major milestone by deploying it end-to-end to production! Setting out to create a highly responsive, premium-feeling application was challenging, but the result is a seamless and dynamic user experience. Here are some of the key technical features I implemented: ✨ Real-time AI Responses: Integrated LangChain and WebSockets to enable smooth, word-by-word text streaming mimicking human-like typing speeds. 🔎 Agentic Web Search: Gave the AI the ability to intelligently browse the internet and use external tools (like Tavily) to fetch the latest real-world data securely. 🔐 Robust Authentication: Built a complete custom authentication flow from scratch (JWT, password hashing via bcrypt, and email verification) to ensure user data stays protected. 🎨 Premium UI/UX: Designed a beautiful dark-mode forward interface utilizing React and TailwindCSS. It includes smooth micro-animations, auto-resizing text areas, and dynamic chat history rendering. ☁️ Unified Deployment: Configured a MERN application where the Express backend serves the Vite-compiled Single Page Application dynamically from a single Render instance, configuring proxies for a flawless dev-to-prod pipeline. Tech Stack: MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js, Socket.IO, LangChain, TailwindCSS, Vite. Building this challenged me with interesting engineering hurdles—like securely bridging frontend WebSockets to backend AI streams and mastering seamless session-based routing. Seeing it all come together live has been incredibly rewarding! Which one should you use for your next project? It depends on your requirements. If you want fast development and quick delivery, go with React. It’s popular, simple, and works really well with AI tools since most LLMs are heavily trained on it. But there are some downsides. Data mainly flows one way (parent to child). Sending data back isn’t straightforward, and prop drilling can become an issue in larger apps. In those cases, you’ll probably need state management tools like Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or Jotai. The good part is flexibility. You can pick whatever you want for your stack. Axios for API calls, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Jotai, anything that fits your project. No strict rules. But as the project grows, too much freedom can also lead to messy architecture if there’s no proper structure. React is also a good choice when your backend is separate and SEO is not a major concern. Now if you want a full-stack solution where SEO matters for some pages and not others, Next.js is a better fit. It gives you structure and flexibility together. You can build frontend, backend, and server-side logic in one codebase. Very useful for things like public landing pages + private dashboards in the same app. Also, Next.js is developed by Vercel, and they are pushing heavily into AI. With their AI SDK, you get things like workflows, built-in UI helpers/components, and an AI gateway, which makes it a solid choice for modern AI-powered apps. Simple way to think about it: React = flexibility and speed Next.js = structure and full stack capability Pick based on your use case, not hype.

Your frontend isn’t slow because of React, Angular, or Vue. It’s slow because it’s doing too much thinking. I’ve been working on AI-powered features in modern web apps, and one pattern keeps showing up: we’re pushing intelligence into the UI when it doesn’t belong there. Here’s what that looks like in practice: Before - Frontend handles complex decision trees - Multiple API calls stitched together in the browser - Business logic duplicated across clients - UI becomes fragile and hard to scale After (with AI-assisted backend orchestration) - Frontend becomes a thin, responsive layer - AI services handle decision-making and aggregation - APIs return “ready-to-render” data - UI focuses purely on experience, not intelligence The shift isn’t just architectural—it’s philosophical. We’re moving from: “Frontend as controller” → to “Frontend as interpreter” In one recent project, we reduced frontend complexity by ~40% just by moving AI-driven workflows behind a single orchestrated endpoint. The UI got faster, cleaner, and way easier to maintain. What I’d do differently? Start with where intelligence should live, not where it’s easiest to implement.
