Mental clarity is wealth. And most people are bankrupt. Not because they’re weak... But because the world is built to keep you slightly distracted, slightly anxious, slightly behind. That’s the business model. - Every ping steals a thought. - Every “quick check” turns into 30 minutes. - Every open tab is a tiny tax on your brain. Then you wonder why you feel tired before lunch. Here’s what I see with senior leaders: They don’t fail because they lack talent. They fail because they let chaos rent space in their head. And chaos is expensive. ⚠️ It shows up as: - Bad hires - Reactive decisions - Overpromising - Snapping at people you respect - Solving the wrong problem loudly Clarity isn’t whale song and candles. Clarity is a DISCIPLINE. 👉 I have a 'dumb' phone that doesn't have apps, it transforms my thinking and brain fog. It's a bit extreme, but few rules that also work: 1. One input window per day News, podcasts, learning. Pick a slot. Close it. 2. Kill notifications aggressively If it’s not a human or a crisis, it waits. 3. Two lists, not ten One list for “must do today”. One list for “nice to do”. That’s it. 4. Add buffers between meetings Five minutes to write the decision. Ten minutes to reset your brain. Stop jumping straight into the next fire. 5. One deep block, every day 60–90 minutes. No tabs. No Slack. One problem. That’s where your best work lives. Your next breakthrough is not hiding in another podcast. It’s hiding under the noise you have surrounding you.
