Working with Legacy Code changed the way I think as a developer. Most beginners prefer new projects clean architecture, modern frameworks, and building everything from scratch. But working on Legacy Code taught me lessons that new projects never could. I learned how to: Read and understand complex code written by different developers over many years Make safe changes in production systems used by real users Think carefully before touching critical parts of the system Refactor step by step without breaking existing functionality Legacy Code taught me patience, responsibility, and true engineering thinking. It made me realize that great developers are not defined by how well they write new code but by how well they understand, maintain, and improve existing systems.
