But we should not reflect this layers as packages. Package names and class names should reflect business concepts. There should be no 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗪𝗲𝗯, 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 layers/packages and also there should be no UserModel, UserController classes, etc. "Model the problem, not the technology! --> Find suitable abstractions straight from the business requirements and hide implementation details, like the fact that you are using MVC." Nice breakdown — especially the emphasis on observability 👍 In production systems, I’ve seen the real challenges show up beyond these layers: - Handling partial failures across services (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers) - Maintaining data consistency in distributed flows (idempotency, eventual consistency) - Observability across async boundaries (tracing Kafka/event-driven flows) The layering is a great foundation, but production readiness really comes from how well these cross-cutting concerns are handled.
