AI is going to change audience discovery. But not in the way most marketers think. Earlier, audience discovery was manual. You defined interests. Tested segments. Built assumptions. Now AI can do that faster than you ever could. It can analyse behavior. Find patterns. Identify pockets of demand you didn’t even know existed. But here’s the shift. Audience discovery is no longer about finding people. It’s about understanding signals. AI will tell you who is converting. But it won’t tell you why they are converting. And that difference matters. Because if you don’t understand the why, you cannot build better messaging. You cannot improve the product. You cannot scale sustainably. Most marketers will stop at what AI shows them. The better ones will go deeper. They’ll use AI to find patterns. And then use thinking to interpret them. That’s where the edge is. AI will make discovery easier.
