⚠️ Cloud hiring is not broken — but the approach might be After multiple conversations with companies across Benelux, one thing is clear: The challenge is not only finding talent… it’s understanding what to look for. Here’s where things often go wrong: ❌ Overemphasis on specific tools (Azure vs AWS debates) ❌ Ignoring adaptability and problem-solving skills ❌ Underestimating the importance of communication ❌ Hiring for today’s needs, not tomorrow’s challenges Meanwhile, the most successful teams are doing things differently: ✔️ Hiring for mindset, not just tech stack ✔️ Valuing engineers who understand business impact ✔️ Prioritizing adaptability in fast-changing environments Cloud is evolving fast — and hiring strategies need to evolve with it. 💬 Curious to hear your perspective: What do you think companies are still getting wrong in Cloud hiring? #Cloud #Leadership #Hiring #TechStrategy #Benelux #DevOps #IT

💡 Cloud hiring in the UK isn’t slowing down, but it is getting more intentional Employers are no longer hiring purely for delivery. They’re looking for cloud professionals who can optimise, influence, and connect technical decisions to real business outcomes. In our latest article, we speak with cloud recruitment specialist Jenny Collin to unpack what’s really changing in 2026. From the rise of platform engineering and FinOps skills, to why communication is now just as important as technical depth. A few key takeaways for cloud professionals: ☁️ Depth is outperforming breadth when it comes to cloud skills ☁️ DevOps remains central, but expectations have evolved ☁️ Employers want impact, not just implementation ☁️ The strongest candidates can clearly explain the “why” behind their work What’s clear is that technical ability alone isn’t enough anymore. How you think, communicate, and demonstrate value is what sets you apart in a more competitive market. Cloud Architect vs Cloud Engineer — candidates confuse these roles constantly. Here's the real difference. I had three candidates this month apply for a Cloud Architect role with strong Cloud Engineer backgrounds. All rejected at the JD level. Here's why: CLOUD ENGINEER: Hands-on implementation. Builds and maintains infrastructure — IaC, CI/CD, deployments. Manages day-to-day cloud operations. Focuses on HOW things are built. Typically 2-5 years to reach mid-senior. CLOUD ARCHITECT: Design and strategy, less daily hands-on. Defines architecture patterns, governance, cost optimisation. Works across teams to align cloud approach to business goals. Focuses on WHY decisions are made. Usually 6+ years with breadth across multiple cloud services. THE OVERLAP: Most Cloud Architects were Cloud Engineers first. The transition happens when someone starts thinking about trade-offs, scalability, long-term cost — not just execution. If you're a recruiter: Ask Walk me through a system you DESIGNED, not just built. That separates them fast. If you're a candidate: Make sure your resume reflects design decisions, not just tools used. #CloudArchitect #CloudEngineer #AWS #TechRecruitment #ITCareers #CloudComputing #TechCareer #CloudJobs

Let me share three things we’ve learned from working with cloud engineers over the past 8 years: 1. The best AWS talent isn’t “looking for a job.” They’re already employed. You need to reach them differently. 2. Speed kills. If your hiring process takes 6 weeks, you’ll lose them in 6 days. 3. Culture fit matters more than tech stack. Skills can be learned. Mindset can’t. At Qadvance (IT Staffing), we’ve built our process around these truths. What would you add to this list? #Cloud #AWS #Staffing #StaffAugmentation #Qadvance
