GPU efficiency research wins Best Paper Award at PEARC Conference

From powering AI to driving scientific breakthroughs, GPUs are the fundamental building blocks of modern computing. But what happens when they aren’t used efficiently? BU PhD candidate Efe Şencan set out to answer this question. His research, conducted with Professor Ayse Coskun and collaborators at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, uncovers inefficiencies in GPU use on supercomputers, and proposes new ways to make them faster and more sustainable.
