Day 3 — JavaScript is humbling me in the best way. Started with the basics I thought I already knew. Turns out I knew the syntax but not the why. var vs let vs const — I used to just pick randomly. Now I get why const is default and var is basically legacy. The thing that actually clicked today: arrow functions aren't just shorter syntax. They handle 'this' differently. Why I don't chain everything in JavaScript anymore Method chaining in JavaScript looks elegant at first glance. But over time, I realized it often comes with hidden costs. Long chains can: • Reduce readability • Hide unnecessary computations • Make debugging harder When everything happens in a single line, understanding what exactly went wrong becomes a challenge. Instead, I started breaking logic into small, named steps: // ❌ Harder to read & debug const result = users .filter(u => u.active) .map(u => u.profile) .filter(p => p.age > 18) .sort((a, b) => a.age - b.age); // ✅ Easier to read & maintain const activeUsers = users.filter(u => u.active); const profiles = activeUsers.map(u => u.profile); const adults = profiles.filter(p => p.age > 18); const result = adults.sort((a, b) => a.age - b.age); A simple rule I follow now: • 1–2 chain steps → 👍 totally fine • 3–4 steps → 🤔 think twice • 5+ steps → 🚩 break it down Cleaner code isn’t about writing less — it’s about making it easier to understand. Built-in vs Manual Flattening in JavaScript Stop writing custom logic to flatten arrays in JavaScript. There’s already a built-in method for it: flat(Infinity) It flattens nested arrays of any depth into a single-level array, no loops, no recursion. Example: [1, [2, [3, [4]]]].flat(Infinity) // → [1, 2, 3, 4] Sometimes the simplest solutions are already part of the language. Knowing your standard library can save you more time than any framework.

🚀 Understanding Recursion + Finding Maximum in Nested Arrays (JavaScript) Today I practiced a powerful concept in JavaScript — recursion with nested arrays — and used it to solve a real problem: 👉 Find the maximum number from a deeply nested array 💡 Example: [1, 0, 7, [2, 5, [10], 4]] 🔍 Approach I followed: ✅ Step 1: Used recursion to flatten the nested array If the element is a number → push into result If it’s an array → call the same function again ✅ Step 2: After flattening, used a loop to find the maximum value 🧠 Key Learnings: • Each recursive call creates its own memory (execution context) • Data is temporarily stored in the call stack • The return keyword helps pass results back step by step • Without capturing the returned value, recursion results can be lost • Breaking problems into smaller parts makes complex logic easier ⚡ Final Output: 👉 Maximum number: 10 💬 This exercise really helped me understand: How recursion works internally How data flows through function calls Difference between primitive and reference types #JavaScript #Recursion #ProblemSolving #WebDevelopment #CodingJourney

JavaScript in 2026 has a LOT going on — and most devs are sleeping on the language-level stuff. ECMAScript 2025 shipped Iterator Helpers, Set methods, and Promise.try(). ES2026 is bringing the Temporal API (finally, no more date libraries), Explicit Resource Management with the using keyword, and a TypeScript v6 that flips strict mode on by default — which will quietly break a lot of projects that think they’re “fine.” My hot take: the signal that matters most here isn’t the new syntax. It’s that TypeScript is now the #1 language on GitHub with 66% YoY growth, AND a Go-based compiler is coming in v7 that promises ~10x speed. The tooling race is accelerating faster than most teams are upgrading. Meanwhile npm had one of its worst years for supply chain security — multiple incidents, one hitting 796 packages with 20M+ downloads. If you’re not actively hardening your dependency pipeline, you’re hoping for luck. The JS ecosystem is consolidating fast around Vite+, React Server Components, and AI-assisted code. The devs who understand why the architecture decisions are being made will outlast the ones who just follow the changelog.
