Great perspective—focusing on one area and deliberately building it out makes all the difference. Right now, I’m focused on strengthening how I translate operational experience into the corporate environment—specifically around program execution, decision-making, and stakeholder alignment. As I continue my transition, I’m targeting opportunities in consulting, program management, and operations leadership where those skills directly drive results. The technical skills matter, but I’ve found that how you communicate and apply them is what ultimately creates impact and growth.

One area I’m really focused on developing right now is decision-making and communication as a leader, especially in high-pressure situations. In my role, I’m often responsible for staffing and making quick decisions that directly impact both operations and team morale. I’ve realized that it’s not just about making the “right” decision, but also how clearly and confidently it’s communicated to the team. Something I’ve been working on is being more transparent when explaining decisions, so employees understand the “why” behind them. I’ve noticed that when people feel informed, they’re more willing to support the outcome even if it’s not ideal.

Really appreciate Capital One sharing such a reflective question. Right now, I’m working toward feeling more confident as a UX designer—especially in how I talk about myself, present my projects, and clearly communicate the thinking behind my decisions. Building the design itself is one part of the process, but being able to confidently explain the why behind each choice is just as important. I’m focused on growing both my craft and the confidence to advocate for my work.

I love this. Curiosity is lost at times based on thinking of how to get things done rather than how could we.

Currently, my focus is more on business operations and future development, because the market has been severely impacted by the economy, and therefore I need to discuss these issues with my team

Something I had to remember is that purpose drives discipline. Curiosity makes the impossible attainable.
