GitHub Copilot is a pair programmer that suggests code snippets and full functions in real time inside your editor. It reads the surrounding code and comments to autocomplete patterns, draft unit tests, scaffold endpoints, and handle repetitive glue work. Best for developers who want to move faster and cut boilerplate without breaking flow. Use it to spike features, explore unfamiliar APIs, and standardize routine code. Guide it with clear function names and comments, review suggestions like any pull request, and keep security checks in place for critical paths. #GitHubCopilot #PairProgramming #DevTools

Ever make a commit to GitHub or merge a PR only to realize everything is broken and you want to go back??? I was "vibe coding" a little last night for fun but ended up not wanting the changes Claude made. But, I had already merged a PR from the development branch. The solution: - Go to the most recent commit hash BEFORE your unwanted changes were applied: git reset --hard <commit hash> git push --force Quick and easy fix! Let me know the other ways you handle this situation!

GitHub is bringing remote control to Copilot CLI, letting developers run and manage coding sessions beyond the local terminal. The move mirrors what Anthropic already introduced with Claude Code, as both push toward agents that can run and be steered from just about anywhere. 🔗 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gfP2iQQ7

Steering and Queueing in VSCode GitHub Copilot Chat is a great recent improvment. While the agent is working on something and you see that it's making an incorrect assumption, or if you've changed your mind, you don't have to wait until it finishes or abort it completely. Instead you can add a steering command which it will take into account in it's current step. Another thing you can do is queue up another change in the same session. So once it completes it's current job, it will start on the next instruction. The UP arrow on the right side of the chat window lets you choose how you want to send your command. #aibetter
