Not all data is stored in Excel sheets… A lot of it lives in databases. That’s where SQL comes in. SQL is used to: Retrieve data Filter information Analyse large datasets Instead of scrolling through rows… You can ask questions like: “How many customers bought last month?” And get an answer instantly. Lesson: If Excel is step one, SQL is the next level. Have you started learning SQL yet? #DataAnalytics #SQL #Learning #CareerGrowth

Most people try to learn SQL by memorizing everything… and end up overwhelmed. The truth is, you don’t need hundreds of commands. Just understanding a few core concepts can take you really far. I came across this visual that breaks down 20 essential SQL concepts — and honestly, if you focus on these, you’re already ahead of most beginners. If you're starting out, focus on: - SELECT & WHERE → getting and filtering data - JOIN → combining tables (this is where things click) - GROUP BY & HAVING → analyzing data Once you’re comfortable with these, everything else becomes much easier. Week 10 SQL Class and things are getting more interesting. Today we continued our SQL deep dive, covering some of the most important concepts for data analysis: 🔹 ORDER BY — sorting query results to make data readable and ranked 🔹 GROUP BY — grouping rows to perform calculations by category 🔹 Aggregate Functions — SUM, COUNT, AVG, MIN, MAX for summarizing large datasets 🔹 CASE Statements applying conditional logic directly inside a query. What I love about this stage of learning is how everything starts to feel connected. GROUP BY barely makes sense without aggregate functions. CASE statements unlock a whole new layer of flexibility in how you shape your output. Each class is building on the last, and I can feel the foundation getting stronger. If you’re learning SQL too, I’d love to connect. Let’s grow together. 🚀 #SQL #DataAnalytics #LearningInPublic #DataAnalyst #CareerGrowth

Most beginners learn SQL… But still struggle to use it in real analysis. I was doing the same. Then I realized — SQL is not about syntax, it’s about thinking. Here’s what actually matters: • Understanding how tables are connected • Knowing what question you want to answer • Using joins to combine meaningful data For example: If you have: Customers table + Orders table You don’t just query them separately. You JOIN them to understand: → Who bought what → How often they purchase → Which customers bring more revenue That’s when SQL becomes powerful. Not just queries… But insights. This shift changed how I approach data analysis. Are you focusing more on syntax or understanding? #SQL #DataAnalytics #LearningInPublic #BusinessAnalytics

Building My SQL Foundation I’ve been focusing on understanding the basics of SQL, and today’s practice helped me get more comfortable with: ✅ SELECT – retrieving specific data ✅ WHERE – filtering records based on conditions ✅ ORDER BY – sorting data for better insights 💡 What I learned: Even simple queries can turn raw data into meaningful information when used correctly. Practicing with real examples is helping me understand how databases work in real-world scenarios. Consistency is key — learning something new every day! 💪 Looking forward to exploring more advanced concepts soon 🚀 #SQL #DataAnalytics #LearningJourney #BeginnerToPro #SkillBuilding #Consistency #FutureDataAnalyst

📊 SQL Learning Journey Today, I learned a new concept in SQL: HAVING clause So far, I’ve covered: ✔️ SELECT & filtering using WHERE (AND / OR, LIKE) ✔️ ORDER BY for sorting ✔️ GROUP BY for grouping data ✔️ INNER JOIN for combining tables 🔍 Today’s focus: HAVING At first, it felt a bit confusing, but here’s the simple way I understood it: 👉 WHERE filters rows 👉 HAVING filters grouped data 💡 Example: If I group users by plan, HAVING helps me filter only those plans where users are more than a certain number. This small concept made a big difference in understanding how to analyze grouped data more effectively. Step by step, getting more comfortable with SQL. 📈 #SQL #DataAnalytics #LearningJourney #SQLPractice

SQL is where every data journey begins. When I started learning data analytics, SQL felt overwhelming—not because it’s difficult, but because I didn’t know how to structure my thinking. So I created this SQL Basics Cheat Sheet to simplify the fundamentals: ✔ SELECT & filtering data ✔ WHERE conditions & operators ✔ ORDER BY & sorting ✔ LIMIT / TOP ✔ Aggregations (COUNT, SUM, AVG) ✔ Basic string functions Instead of memorizing syntax, I realized: 👉 SQL is about thinking in data This cheat sheet helped me structure my learning better, and I hope it helps you too. 📌 Save this for quick reference 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gd_bQnPJ 💬 What do you find harder in SQL—Joins or Group By? #SQL #DataAnalytics #LearnSQL #DataScience #DataAnalyst #SQLBasics #CheatSheet #CareerGrowth #TechLearning #DataCommunity
