We are playing around with Cloudflare Email, and honestly, this one stopped me mid-scroll.
Email!! but not the way we have known it. Not SMTP configs, not juggling API keys like with SendGrid or Resend, just…native email inside Workers. We spun up a quick test, and within minutes, our little agent was receiving emails, pulling data from an external API, thinking (yes, literally pausing and processing for ~20 minutes), and replying back like a human assistant. No glue code. No orchestration mess.
What hit me was not its pricing ($5/month + 3k emails is wild), but the shift in who email is for. This is not built for marketers or lifecycle teams, it isbuilt for agents that live inside workflows. Imagine a support inbox where every incoming email is triaged, enriched, researched, and answered, without ever leaving your infra. That is a different game.
We even tried the open-sourced “Agentic Inbox” Thomas Gauvin dropped and it felt less like an inbox, more like a command center.
But here is what I keep thinking about: if email becomes just another function call inside infra, what happens to everything we obsess over today: deliverability hacks, ESP dependencies, even “campaigns”?
Feels like we are slowly moving from “sending emails” to “building systems that happen to communicate via email.” And…thats a massive shift.
Finally, users can sign up without taking a round trip to their inbox. Big win for conversion and UX. 👏🏻👏🏻
