Salesforce just made the agent stack more real. And the business context matters. Salesforce closed fiscal 2026 at $41.5B in revenue, while Agentforce reached $800M ARR, up 169% YoY. That is a strong signal this is moving beyond AI theater. The real story is not “AI in Slack.” It is that Salesforce and Google are trying to collapse the gap between: • where people talk • where customer data lives • where work gets executed Slack. Google Workspace. Gemini Enterprise. Agentforce. That stack is starting to look less like a chatbot layer and more like operating infrastructure. A few details stand out: Slack Enterprise Search for Gmail and Google Drive is now available. Agentforce Sales inside Gemini Enterprise is in open beta. Gemini in Slack is in private preview. Taken together, this suggests Salesforce is not treating AI as an add-on. They are treating it as a coordination layer across systems. And I think that is the right move. Most companies do not need a smarter chatbot. They need fewer handoffs, less copy-paste, less tab switching, and less human glue between systems. The value of AI is shifting from answer quality to workflow compression. The real question is: what cross-tool workflow in your company is repetitive and structured enough to hand over to an agent first?
