Useful quantum computing is the next moonshot. Now it's time to build the rocket. ⚛️🌑🔧 At Alice & Bob, we spent our early years controlling a single cat qubit 🐈⬛, understanding its physics. Now the challenge is to scale these systems, and that’s a serious engineering problem. Day to day, that means tweaking a chip design again and again, aligning components that shrink when you cool them to temperatures lower than parts of outer space, or tuning signals with absurd precision. 🧠🔩 No one does it alone. Now we’re nearly 250 people, 30 nationalities, tackling one of the biggest challenges today: building a useful quantum computer. 🚀 Day 3 of My Quantum Computing Journey – Phase 2 (WISER Program) Today’s session by Dr. Stefan Seegerer took things to the next level, focusing on multi-qubit systems and the power of entanglement. 📌 Today I learned: • Introduction to two-qubit gates and how they enable interaction between qubits • Understanding the CNOT gate – a fundamental gate for creating entanglement • How entanglement is generated and manipulated using quantum circuits • Concept of GHZ state and its importance in multi-qubit entangled systems • Difference between single-qubit and multi-qubit operations • How entanglement leads to correlations that are not possible in classical systems 💡 What stood out to me is how entanglement scales from 2 qubits to multiple qubits, opening doors to powerful quantum algorithms and complex systems. This session really helped me understand the building blocks behind quantum algorithms and quantum communication.
