Fifteen years is a long time to watch the universe expand... Inside the Google ecosystem, I have spent over a decade witnessing a peculiar kind of digital entropy. We have built incredible things like Android, Cloud, Chrome, Gemini, Flutter, Go. But as they grew, they drifted. They developed their own languages, their own cultures, and their own gravity wells. For a developer, navigating between them began to feel less like moving through a unified suite and more like jumping between rival city-states. My personal mission/struggle/mountain has been the pursuit of a coherent Google-level developer experience. It is the white whale of my career. We started with DevSite to bring the documentation under one roof. Then came Google Developer Profiles, to finally acknowledge that a developer is a single human being, not a fragmented collection of API keys. Today, we take the next step. We have launched the Builders Hub at https://builders.google It is the umbrella we have been missing. By leveraging your human identity, the Hub pulls these disparate threads together into a single, functional workspace. We are finally fighting back against the chaos. ⚫ A unified entry point for the entire Google ecosystem ⚫ Integrated workflows that respect your cross-product identity ⚫ A developer experience that feels like a single conversation, not a shouting match It has taken fifteen years to get the stars to align, but the view from here is much clearer. Go see what we have built. Or don't, and continue enjoying the entropic drift. The choice is yours. I'll be here, whale-hunting 🫠 and of course a shout out to all the wonderful people who made it happen Richard Seroter Kari Loftesness Chris Demeke Bala Muthukrishnan Luke Mahe Andrey Gavel Crystal R. S. Will Balladares and many more...
Love the one place for all the Google developer things. Great work Ali and team!
You, er, you know what happened to Ahab, right?
