Interviewing as a Junior Software Engineer: Focus on Fundamentals

Today I gave an interview for a Junior Software Engineer role And these were the exact topics I was asked: - Closures in JavaScript - Event Loop - How React renders in the browser - Controlled vs Uncontrolled components - Authentication vs Authorization - JWT — how it actually works No DSA. No puzzles. Just pure fundamentals. And honestly… this made me realize something: 👉 Companies don’t care how many frameworks you know 👉 They care how well you understand the basics You can build projects using tutorials… but in interviews, your understanding gets exposed. If you’re preparing right now, focus less on “what to use” and more on “why it works” That’s the real difference. #frontend #javascript #reactjs #interviewprep #freshers
