The piece nobody's connecting yet is what happens when voice becomes native to the orchestration layer. Right now adding voice to an enterprise agent means stitching together separate STT and TTS vendors with months of pipeline work before anyone can even test the actual use case. Deepgram and ElevenLabs going native inside watsonx Orchestrate collapses that whole integration stack. But here's the bigger signal. Most knowledge workers will talk to their AI before they type at it. Voice as a first-class capability inside the agent platform is how enterprise AI stops being a tool you switch to and starts being something that just works while you're doing your actual job.
