🚀 Day 17 of My LeetCode Journey Today I solved Edit Distance (LeetCode 72). Problem: Given two strings, determine the minimum number of operations required to convert one string into another. The allowed operations are insert, delete, and replace characters. Approach: I solved this problem using Dynamic Programming. Key Idea: • Define dp[i][j] as the minimum operations needed to convert the first i characters of word1 into the first j characters of word2 • If characters match, no operation is required • Otherwise, consider insert, delete, and replace operations and take the minimum Time Complexity: O(m × n) Space Complexity: O(m × n) This problem is a classic Dynamic Programming question frequently asked in coding interviews. #leetcode #datastructures #algorithms #dynamicprogramming #java #codinginterview

When I first started writing async endpoints, I treated it like a checkbox. "Use await, get speed." But the real value clicked when I saw how thoughtfully designed async flows could handle surges in traffic without the backend becoming the bottleneck. The difference between a system that holds up under pressure and one that doesn't often isn't the framework — it's whether the engineer truly understood why they made each architectural decision. That realization changed how I approach every API I build now. I ask: "What happens when 10x the requests hit this endpoint?" before I write a single line. I built a fully FREE voice chatbot in Python - and it actually works. 🎙️🤖 Zero cost. No credit card. Just Python + a free API. Here's what it does: → You speak into your microphone → Whisper (runs locally) converts your speech to text → Groq + Llama 3 generates a smart reply in milliseconds → gTTS converts the reply to audio → Your speaker plays it back out loud The full loop - speak, think, respond — in under 3-5 seconds. I built this from scratch on my MacBook, debugged every error along the way (there were many 😅) and learned more in 2 days than I did in week of reading docs. The stack is 100% free: ✅ faster-whisper - speech to text, runs on CPU ✅ Groq API - 14,400 free requests/day ✅ gTTS - Google text to speech ✅ pygame - audio playback ✅ Python 3.11 or more What I learned building this: 1. STT, LLM, and TTS are 3 completely different problems 2. Mac installs are harder than they look (llvmlite, PortAudio, cmake...) 3. Model names go out of date fast - llama3-8b-8192 was decommissioned while I was building! 4. The "speak() function" is 5 layers deep: gTTS → MP3 → pygame → SDL → CoreAudio → speaker 5. Most people don’t fail coding interviews because they can’t code. They fail because they panic when the problem gets simple. Focus on Concepts, Not Syntax Every year: • New languages appear • New frameworks launch • New libraries become popular So trying to remember everything is almost impossible. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘅. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁. No matter which language you use: JavaScript Python Java Go C++ Internally they all rely on the same fundamentals: • Variables • Loops • Conditions • Functions • Data structures • Logic and problem solving Syntax can be searched in seconds. But understanding the problem and designing the solution takes real thinking. Today you can generate code with: Google Stack Overflow AI tools But if your concept is wrong, the code will also be wrong. And the biggest problems in large projects usually start from small mistakes at the beginning. That’s why good developers always: Analyze first , Research properly, Think deeply 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲. Building strong fundamentals step by step Today I worked on Array Pair-based coding challenges, solving problems that involved identifying and analyzing different types of pairs within arrays. 18 problems solved Score: 170 / 180 The challenges covered concepts such as: • Pair sum and difference conditions • Even and odd pair identification • Product-based pair problems • Prime-number based pair logic • Minimum/maximum pair calculations Practicing these problems strengthened my understanding of array traversal, nested loop logic, and problem-solving patterns often used in coding interviews.
