When you set up applicant source tracking, the URL parameter will be added to the apply URLs for your jobs on LinkedIn. Applicant source tracking lets you measure whether candidates who click your LinkedIn Jobs complete the application in your ATS. It’s standard for job boards to encourage customers to implement tracking so that their hiring outcomes are accurately credited.
Each ATS has slightly different requirements for applicant tracking, and some require each customer to configure their own. A source code will have two parts:
- Parameter – The parameter tells your ATS to track the source where the link originated (examples include: Source=, src=, Gh_src=, and Jvst=).
- Code – The code tells you where the traffic is coming from (ex: LinkedIn, LI_Jobs, LI_postings, and Bdfd434).
When you combine the parameter and code together (ex: source=linkedin), you have a unique source code for tracking applicants who found your job on LinkedIn.
This PDF provides tracking parameters where available, and links to each ATS’s guidelines for applicant tracking where parameters haven’t been provided. Note: If your ATS is not listed, please reach out to your ATS provider for details on how to configure your source code. If your ATS has a standard source code format, we may have already added tracking for you. Please check Product settings to confirm.
