View invalid job notifications for Job Wrapping in Recruiter

Last updated: 1 week ago

If you notice that not all your job slots are being used automatically for Job Wrapping in LinkedIn Recruiter, there may be a valid reason why. You can use the Invalid Jobs section to help identify the issue.

To view your Invalid Job notifications:

  1. Move your cursor over Jobs at the top of the Recruiter homepage and select Basic jobs.

  2. Click Invalid Jobs on the left pane.

Invalid Jobs can flag several kinds of problems, including duplicates, missing or invalid fields, location problems, company or URL mismatches, blocked or excluded postings, compliance or quality violations, and contract-budget errors.

Duplicate jobs

Jobs in this group are not being posted through Job Wrapping because an existing LinkedIn job posting has been found with a matching title, location, and company.

The details on the duplicate job are shown in red text under each job listed. Move your cursor over a job to view the original job or to view the duplicated job on LinkedIn.

To resolve the issue, please ensure the jobs listed aren’t duplicating other jobs on your system and are not manually posted through Recruiter. The job will not be available on the job wrapping interface until the manually posted job is closed.

Incomplete jobs

Jobs in this group are not posted because one or more fields are missing or invalid.

The details on the issue are shown in red text under each job listed. To resolve the issue, please take the recommended action. You can move your cursor over a job to view the original job.

Some common incomplete errors include:

  • Invalid or missing description (fewer than 100 characters or empty)
  • Invalid title, job code, job type, industry, or experience level
  • Invalid or missing company name / no link to a LinkedIn Company Page
  • Invalid or missing apply URL / source URL

Location issue

Jobs in this group are not posted because a standardized LinkedIn location can’t be found. If the job location is ambiguous (e.g. home office, United States, North East region, Nationwide) or doesn’t contain a city and country, it will not be copied.

The details on the location issue are shown in red text under each job listed. Move your cursor over a job to view the original job.

Some location-specific failures include:

  • Missing location or no location provided.
  • An invalid or unrecognizable location.
  • The job is located in a U.S.-sanctioned country.

Other Invalid Job flags

  • Member reported closed: Members flagged the job post as closed. Verify in your ATS or CRM and re-sync if the job is still open.
  • Customer excluded: An exclusion rule stopped the post. Review or remove the rule in Recruiter or via Support.
  • Compliance or quality violation: The content didn't meet LinkedIn posting guidelines. Recreate the job with compliant content.
  • Budget or credit error: Your posting credits are exhausted. Buy more slots or close older posts to free capacity.
