Hiring Assistant Report terms and definitions

Who can use this feature?

Hiring Assistant is available as an add-on for LinkedIn Recruiter and LinkedIn Recruiter Professional Services Plus (RPS+) customers. To use Hiring Assistant, you must be assigned the Hiring Assistant Permission and set your language preference to English. We’re gradually making this experience available, and you might not have access to it at this time. Learn more about Hiring Assistant here.

The LinkedIn Recruiter Hiring Assistant Report provides insights into Hiring Assistant usage and performance for you and your team for sourcing, applicant evaluation, messaging, and prescreening. You can use the data in the report to understand how Hiring Assistant is performing and contributing to your hiring outcomes on your contract.

All reports use Universal Coordinated Time (UTC +0), and activity can take up to 48 hours to appear. The report includes data going back two years from the current date.

Important to know

If you’re not an admin and your Hiring Assistant permission was revoked or reassigned, you won’t have access to your historical data in the Hiring Assistant Report.

Here are definitions of key terms frequently used in the Hiring Assistant Report.

Hiring Assistant metrics graph

The Hiring Assistant metrics graph at the top of the report displays the data in four tabs: Avg. active users, Pipeline, Applicants evaluated, and InMail accepts. The graph shows averages for Avg. active users and total values for Pipeline, Applicants evaluated, and InMail accepts for the selected date range.

  • Avg. active users: The average number of unique daily active users over the selected date range. This metric aggregates activity across desktop and mobile. Note: Selecting the Project filter will hide Avg. daily active users data.
    • Sourcing - Hiring Assistant users: A subset of Hiring Assistant users. The number of users who performed at least one of the following activities in a given week: (1) interacted with the intake flow, (2) enabled Hiring Assistant on a project, (3) viewed (mini profile card or full profile view), InMailed, or archived a Hiring Assistant-sourced candidate.
    • Applicants evaluated - Hiring Assistant users: A subset of Hiring Assistant users. The number of Hiring Assistant users who visited a page that shows evaluated applicants, ATS applicants, or Apply Starters at least once that day.
  • Pipeline: The total number of candidates added to the recruiting pipeline by Hiring Assistant during the selected date range.
  • Applicants evaluated: The number of new evaluations performed by Hiring Assistant on applicants, ATS applicants, and Apply Starters.
  • InMail accepts: The number of InMails accepted, combining responses to both user-sent messages and Hiring Assistant-sourced candidates, over the selected date range.

Hiring Assistant details chart

The Hiring Assistant details chart displays the data in four tabs: Sourcing, Messaging, Applicant evaluation, and Prescreening.

  • Sourcing: The number of searches performed, profiles viewed, and profiles saved to a project by Hiring Assistant and Non-Hiring Assistant users combined and Hiring Assistant alone.
    • Searches performed: The number of sourcing strategies that Hiring Assistant generated and processed to find candidates.
    • Profiles viewed: The total number of profiles Hiring Assistant reviewed during its searches for candidates.
    • Profiles saved to a project: The total number of candidates saved to a project or added to the pipeline by Hiring Assistant. Candidates sourced by Hiring Assistant also refers to members added to the pipeline by Hiring Assistant.
  • Messaging: The number of total sourced candidates and Hiring Assistant-sourced candidates as they relate to the number of InMails sent, InMail responses, and InMail accepts.
    • InMails sent: The number of InMails sent to Hiring Assistant-sourced candidates.
    • InMail responses: The number of responses received for InMails sent to Hiring Assistant-sourced candidates.
    • InMail accepts: The number of InMail accepts received for InMails sent to Hiring Assistant-sourced candidates.
  • Applicant evaluation: The count of total evaluations and their breakdown into new evaluations and reevaluations. New evaluations are the first time applicants are evaluated in a project. Reevaluations occur when previously evaluated applicants are evaluated again using updated criteria after hiring requirements have changed. This data is reported across applicant evaluations, top applicant evaluations, and positive actions on top applicants by recruiters.
    • Applicant evaluations: The number evaluations performed in the time period, broken down by new evaluations and reevaluations.
    • Top applicant evaluations: The number of times evaluations resulted in a top applicant rating, broken down by new evaluations and reevaluations.
    • Positive actions on top applicants by recruiter: The number of times a recruiter performed a positive action on a top applicant, including saving a candidate to a pipeline stage (except the “Reject” stage), saving a resume, or sending an InMail.
  • Prescreening: The number of prescreenings enabled, started, and completed by candidates sourced on Hiring Assistant projects. Use this to track how effectively candidates are engaging with prescreening conversations.
    • Prescreenings enabled: The number of prescreenings that were enabled in a Hiring Assistant project.
    • Prescreenings started: The number of prescreenings Hiring Assistant started.
    • Prescreenings completed: The number of prescreenings Hiring Assistant completed.

Left pane filters

On the left pane of the report, you’ll find filters to customize your report view:

  • Date range: Set the overall time frame for the report.
  • Contract: Narrow down which contract is shown in the report.
  • Project: Narrow down which project is shown in the report.
  • Owner: Narrow down the Hiring Assistant data based on your selected owner(s) or Account Center group(s).

View, save, or export

Use the buttons in the upper-right to view all saved reports, save your current combination of filters for future reference, or export your report:

  • View all saved reports: Open a list of your previously saved configurations.
  • Save report: Store your current filters and date ranges so you can revisit the same configuration without reapplying filters.
  • Export: Generate an XLS file containing the metrics from the report.
