As we begin 2026, hiring and talent acquisition are entering a pivotal phase, shaped by persistent skills shortages, accelerating AI adoption, and continued pressure on organizations to build workforces more strategically in uncertain conditions. This is why the Recruitment Process Outsourcing Association (RPOA) has introduced its 2028 Vision: a clear roadmap to become the world’s most recognized authority on RPO foresight and innovation, and the trusted convener for the global RPO ecosystem. Organizations are increasingly relying on external recruiting partners not simply to fill roles, but to: * Access scarce and specialized talent * Navigate hiring volatility and regional labor shifts * Apply data and market intelligence to workforce planning * Adopt AI responsibly while preserving human judgment RPOA’s vision is designed for this moment - bringing together RPO providers, enterprise talent leaders, and technology partners to collaborate on practical, buyer-centric, and interoperable talent solutions. What stands out most to me is the association’s commitment to community over competition. As hiring models evolve, shared learning, credible research, and a neutral place to align on best practices will be essential. Looking ahead to 2028, RPOA aims to be recognized as the home of RPO and THE PLACE TO GO FOR RPO™. I’m proud to support this vision and the role RPOA will play in shaping what comes next for hiring and talent acquisition. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gwrbepiV #Hiring #TalentAcquisition #RPO #FutureOfWork #Leadership #AIinRecruiting #RPOA

Why Nearshoring Isn't Optional Anymore The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 identifies five macrotrends fundamentally reshaping global labor markets through 2030. Remarkably, Latin America finds itself strategically positioned at the center of all five. 1. Technological Change (60% of employers affected) The Trend: Broadening digital access is the #1 transformative force globally. AI, automation, and digital technologies are creating 170 million new jobs while eliminating 92 million others. Latin America's Position: The region has achieved rapid digital transformation, with mobile-first economies and tech hubs in Mexico City, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Bogotá producing world-class technical talent. 2. Geoeconomic Fragmentation (34% of employers affected) The Trend: Geopolitical tensions and trade restrictions are driving companies to reshore and nearshore operations closer to home markets. Latin America's Position: For U.S. companies, the region offers proximity without geopolitical complexity. WEF data shows employers expecting geoeconomic transformation are 50% more likely to reshore, and Latin America is the natural destination. 3. Skills Gaps (63% cite as biggest barrier) The Trend: The gap between available skills and required skills is now the #1 business transformation obstacle globally. Latin America's Position: Massive investments in STEM education, coding bootcamps, and professional development have created talent pools in exactly the skills employers need: AI, data science, software development, and cybersecurity. 4. Demographic Shifts (40% of employers affected) The Trend: High-income economies face aging, shrinking workforces while middle-income economies have growing working-age populations. Latin America's Position: Young, expanding workforce entering the market precisely when Northern markets face critical labor shortages. Lower-income and middle-income economies will supply two-thirds of new global workforce entrants. 5. Economic Uncertainty (50% affected by rising costs) The Trend: Inflation, cost pressures, and economic volatility are forcing companies to optimize operations while maintaining quality. Latin America's Position: Competitive rates without sacrificing talent quality, plus time zone alignment that distant offshore locations can't offer. The Result? 45% of U.S. companies increasing Latin American hiring 285% surge in remote applicants from the region $78 billion economic impact These aren't five separate trends, they're five reinforcing forces all pointing in the same direction. Latin America isn't just responding to one market opportunity; it's positioned at the nexus where all five global transformations intersect. Nearshoring to Latin America isn't a tactic. It's the strategic response to every major force reshaping the future of work.
