“I had the privilege of working in partnership with Chad over the course of more than a year at REI. We worked closely together to bring phenomenal Executive-level talent to the co-op, building out diversity-focused sourcing strategies, working to diversify leadership presence at the co-op, and advocating for right-fit candidates. Chad’s knowledge and experience was invaluable and provided an awesome foundation from which to create new strategies and seek process innovation. By blending his highly specialized knowledge of the Executive recruiting space with my niche specialty of sourcing and recruiting diverse candidates, we were able to develop new ways of working that resulted in high impact changes. While not my direct manager, Chad was a mentor, a sounding board, a leader, a thought-partner, and a friend in so many ways. From ideating around data research and analysis to crafting the right story in support of a business case being made and expanding a search in a different / nontraditional direction to supporting me in advocating for my perspective to be shared directly in forums (and a host of things between), Chad’s silent leadership is one of his superpowers. He asks thought-provoking questions, offers space to entertain new ways of working, creates safety and trust in community, and provides encouragement and accountability across the board - regardless of who the audience is. Chad is also comfortable giving and receiving feedback in genuine, authentic, and supportive ways. His impact on REI cannot be overstated, as the co-op and wider Talent Acquisition team simply wouldn’t be the same without his presence, skills, and abilities. Chad is an asset to any organization lucky enough to have him. I would welcome the opportunity to work with him again in any capacity and highly recommend Chad to any organization looking to have a high impact Executive recruiter in their ranks.”
