Sales Navigator's AI-powered Sales Assistant streamlines prospecting by delivering pre-screened leads, identifying the best paths in, and drafting personalized outreach. To make Sales Assistant more effective, you can adjust your Sales Assistant settings for further refinement or as your needs change.
Sales Assistant access
To adjust your Sales Assistant settings:

Sign in to Sales Navigator on desktop. Sales Assistant settings aren’t currently available from your mobile browser or in the Sales Navigator app.

Click the Go to Sales Assistant button in the upper-right corner. If you don’t see the Sales Assistant button, the feature might not currently be available to you.

Click the Preferences button in the upper-right corner.

Click Edit to the right of the setting you want to change. See the table below to learn more about each setting.

Make your changes and click the Save or Update button in the lower-right corner.

Click the
Close icon in the upper-right corner. If you’re adjusting your Lead preferences, you may need to review the changes and click Save to confirm. -
In the Refresh leads? dialog that appears, click Refresh leads now to get updated lead recommendations with your new preferences. You can also click After reviewing to keep reviewing your existing leads based on your previous preferences.

Sales Assistant preferences
Review the following table to learn about each Sales Assistant setting.
| Setting | How it works |

| Product or service | Click Edit on the right and select or add the most relevant product or service that you sell. This helps Sales Assistant give you more relevant leads and draft more personalized messages that show how your product will help your lead. You can currently only select one product or service at a time. If your admin has turned off product and service editing, you won't be able to add or edit your own products, but you can select an option added by your admin. |
| Account list (book of business) | The account list you choose helps Sales Assistant generate leads relevant to your target accounts. Click Edit on the right to change or add an account list. |
| Lead preferences | Lead preferences are based on the lead criteria and account list you chose when you set up Sales Assistant, and the feedback you enter after marking leads as Not a fit. To adjust your lead preferences, click Edit on the right. Hover over an existing preference and click the Edit or X Remove icon, or scroll down and click Add + to add your own. Include your most important criteria as must-haves, and your optional criteria as nice-to-haves. Leads will only be recommended to you if they fit the must-haves. Leads that also fit the nice-to-haves will be ranked higher in the recommendations. Lead preferences currently only apply to your lead recommendations within Sales Assistant, not your other Sales Navigator lead recommendations or your system-generated Recommended Leads list. |
| Message preferences | When you edit the message drafts that Sales Assistant generates, Sales Assistant can adapt to your messaging preferences and apply them when it generates future message drafts, subject to your Privacy and data settings. Sales Assistant can save up to 20 preferences to your settings. To remove a messaging preference, click Edit on the right. Hover over an existing preference and click the X Remove icon. You can also turn off messaging preferences. |
