Role Guides are a high‑fidelity merchandizing surface that shows employees skills, responsibilities, and learning recommendations for specific roles. Turning on role guides in bulk is only available during ingestion and only after role data publishing is enabled.
To turn on Role Guides in Learning:
- Go to Learning Management and select Talent Architecture.
- Publish role data for any roles that are still in the In review tab.
- Confirm each role includes a job title, skills, and a description.
- Open the Published tab in the Roles page.
- Use the “Role guide ready" status filter to identify roles that are ready for Role Guides.
- Select one or more eligible roles.
- Click Turn on Role Guides.
- Review the Role Guides to confirm accuracy and click Turn on.
Confirm role data is complete
Role Guides require job titles, skills, and descriptions. If any required data is missing, the platform prevents you from publishing the guide.
Complete role data keeps Role Guides trustworthy and useful for learners.
Publish role data first
Always publish role data before you turn on Role Guides. Role data controls visibility across Career Hub, while Role Guides add depth and context.
You cannot publish Role Guides for roles that remain unpublished.
Turn on Role Guides during ingestion to scale faster
When you upload data via CSV and autopublish or turn on an HCM integration, you can turn on Role Guides in bulk during ingestion.
This one‑time option lets you launch multiple Role Guides together without manual rework later.
Use filters to find roles ready to turn on as Role Guides
In the Roles tab under Published, use the filters to quickly identify which roles are ready to turn on as Role Guides and which need updates. Filter by Status and Role guide ready vs. No standard title found and Existing Role with updates data.
Filters help you focus on gaps like missing skills or descriptions before you tun on Role Guides.
Turn off Role Guides intentionally when needed
You can turn off a Role Guide at any time without deleting the role itself. This flexibility helps you pause or revise guidance while keeping role data intact. Go to Customize role guide (optional) > and toggle “Off” Share this role guide to employees? This flexibility helps you pause or revise guidance while keeping role data intact.
Use this option when role expectations change or when updates are still in progress.
