Last week, I sat down with John Waldron, President and COO of Goldman Sachs, for our latest Value Accelerator podcast. We discussed leading in uncertain times—and how the rules of leadership are shifting. We discussed the rising importance of agility and scenario planning. In a volatile environment, leaders must prepare for multiple outcomes—and develop the reflexes to pivot fast. We also unpacked AI—not as hype, but as a practical lever for change. John pointed out the importance of getting the data right. From there, the real opportunity lies in reinventing processes and business models—while not underestimating the importance of organizational alignment and change management needed to make it real. One standout theme: bureaucracy needs a reset. Alignment matters, but not every decision requires consensus. Knowing when to engage broadly and when to move decisively is a critical leadership judgment. Thanks to the 1,000+ clients, investors, and portfolio leaders who joined us for the conversation.
