The Workday CCL sync takes 24 hours for content and skills. Content and Skills are both available as soon as the sync is complete.

The Workday CCL integration supports the following content types:

• Courses
• Curated/admin-selected videos
• LinkedIn Learning first‑party Learning Paths (not custom)

Follow these steps to curate videos for Workday Learning.

No. Workday’s API does not support learner-level metadata.

LinkedIn will check the customer's licenses and push the broadest language selection:

For example:

• If the customer has all licenses and French language, then all languages are sent.
• If the customer has French and English language licenses, then both languages sent.
• If a customer downgrades the license, they will need to reconfigure their integration for it to properly flow.

No. There is no expected downtime in completion reporting or content availability in Workday when you are configuring the integration.

The Workday CCL generally does not support the embedding of courses. The integration operates similar to the previous integration, i.e., a link from the Learning experience.

No. There is no impact on content in the process of syncing or already assigned to learners.

No. There is no down time in completion reporting or content availability while you’re configuring the integration.

Yes. A Workday Skills Cloud add-on license is required for LinkedIn Learning skills to appear in Workday.

LinkedIn Learning courses are mapped to Workday skills, so engagement with LinkedIn Learning content may be reported as skill development across the Workday Skills Cloud (including Workday Learning, Workday Profile, and so on).

In the first step of the integration setup process, admins can check or uncheck "Import External Vendor Skills" and "Opt-Out of Synonymous Skills."

If you select the check box, you import exact and synonymous skills from LinkedIn to Workday Learning, provided you have opted in to receive skills. 

If you clear the check box, Workday will not import content that contains skills. We don’t recommend clearing the Import External Vendor Skills check box after you enable skills.

Once content is successfully pushed to the enhanced Workday CCL – and as long as Skills Cloud is enabled – then the associated skills will be available when the content is available. You are seeing this because LinkedIn has already completed a Workday Skills Cloud mapping exercise and only skills with direct or synonymous matches will appear in Workday.

LinkedIn Learning maps to Workday skills in the following ways:

• The Workday Skills Cloud automatically mapped LinkedIn Learning skills to suggested Workday skills.
• The LinkedIn Learning team manually reviewed and adjusted the mapping to ensure that most LinkedIn Learning content will be tagged to at least one Workday skill.
• LinkedIn Learning courses, learning paths, and videos are automatically tagged to the corresponding Workday skills(s) when customers configure the integration.
• The LinkedIn Learning team manually refreshes the skills mapping every three months to ensure new LinkedIn Learning skills are mapped to appropriate Workday skills.
