What does it actually take to lead through uncertainty with AI, without outsourcing your judgment or creativity? In this Leadership Live conversation (now available as a LinkedIn Learning course), Dorie Clark and leadership advisor Rita J. King share a practical framework for using AI as applied imagination—and for making better decisions when the path isn’t clear. 🧠✨ Key takeaways: 🤔🔄 Reframe AI as “applied imagination”: Don’t treat AI as something you should defer to; treat it as a tool that amplifies what you bring. ⏸️➡️ Slow down to speed up: In uncertainty, pause before acting and ask what the moment requires, rather than reaching for your default behavior. 🛠️🗺️ Don’t harden a bad process: Talk to customers, observe frontline work, and document the current process before introducing automation. 🧪🌳 Start small, not grand: Resist big-bang transformations; find one high-value opportunity and experiment. 🗣️🎯 Communicate for action: Tailor what you share to what the audience needs so they can act—and be clear what you need from them after you communicate. 🧩🧠 Decide amid ambiguity with frameworks: Use tools like the Eisenhower Matrix, scenario planning, and “small bets” to move forward without false certainty. A few standout insights: 💬 “Let's think of AI as applied imagination, not artificial intelligence.” 💬 “Especially if they're short on time, slow down to speed up.” 💬 “Because the last thing you want to do is harden a bad process.” 💬 “I believe we should use our tools instead of letting our tools use us.” 💬 “What does the audience of this particular piece of communication need to know so they can take action?” We’ve edited the live interview into an efficient course with key takeaways. ✅ Watch here: https://lnkd.in/gevzbFbU #ArtificialIntelligence #GenerativeAI #AILeadership #Leadership #DecisionMaking

Deadline pressure. Job uncertainty. That sinking feeling you're falling behind. Srini Pillay, M.D. has a name for it: your brain in survival mode. The way out is to change how you talk to yourself. ❌ "I'm going to fail." ✅ "I'm having the thought that I'm going to fail." That gap between you and the thought is where you get your footing back. 💭 The fear doesn't vanish, but it stops running the show. I was out giving a talk to a senior leadership team in London today. Came home, flopped on the sofa, and discovered my latest LinkedIn Learning course has gone live. Which is a bit startling, given I only finished editing it at the weekend. It's on a topic I get asked about constantly: AI hallucinations. Or more specifically, how to stop your AI tools from confidently sending well-crafted BS out into the world with your name on it. Now, I'll admit it. On paper this sounds about as thrilling as watching a compliance officer paint a wall beige and then loitering to see if it dries to the correct level of corporately approved dullness. But if you've watched any of my other courses, you'll know that's not my style. I can't promise you'll laugh (you're a tough crowd). But you probably won't fall asleep either. Here's what it covers: - why humans are at growing risk of falling for AI misinformation - how to fact-check AI outputs - how to reduce the chances of hallucinations in the first place - how much checking is actually enough - what to check first - why AI agents are about to make all of this considerably harder If you use AI for anything vaguely serious at work, it's worth a watch. And if you want to forward it to your L&D team with a lightly passive-aggressive note, I won't stand in your way. Massive thanks to Marjorie Page and Stephen Spencer for making this happen so quickly!

Stop letting annual budgeting turn into “ask for the moon” negotiations. Christian Wattig shows how to use a hybrid FP&A approach that blends top-down strategy with bottom-up reality so you land on an unbiased plan (and fewer revision cycles) 😅. Give leaders a spend range and connect operational drivers to financial outcomes, then keep watching to learn the driver-based planning method that turns growth “wishes” into targets you can actually execute. You don’t need to wait for expert feedback. Rachel Woods shows how to get it on demand using AI. If you have a big presentation coming up, you can turn AI into a feedback partner. Start simple and ask it to check for what matters: ☑️ Clarity and structure ☑️ Grammar and tone ☑️ Brand guideline alignment Then have it rate your work on a clear 1 to 10 scale and explain what would move it higher. Direction makes revisions easier and more objective. One of the most effective moves is recording yourself practicing. 🎙️ Turn that into a transcript and ask for feedback as if it came from your target audience or a trusted mentor. Use AI to pressure test your thinking. The more specific your ask, the more useful the response. 💬 Check out the course here: https://lnkd.in/eFcvs9Bx #AI #Productivity #AIProductivity

In her Power Query course, Mynda Treacy recommends building a refreshable “clean-data pipeline” so you clean once and update forever with one click. Instead of repeatedly copying/pasting, splitting text, fixing dates, and removing junk rows/columns every day/week/month, you record those cleanup steps in Power Query, load the result to Excel (or Power BI), and refresh whenever new data arrives.
